I really just want to hear what you guys think of what we’re doing. I’m a FTM My baby will be 3 months on Sunday! He’s on a schedule but not really strict the only strict part is his bedtime which starts about 7:30(given how the day was). Usually asleep by 8:30/9. He’ll wake around 2-3am for a bottle and then sleep again until 8am ish. He sleep pretty good we watch his queues for when he’s sleepy. I don’t know if he’s considered high or low sleep needs. Honestly I’m really just winging it 😂. I just want to hear opinions and thoughts.
Honestly I don’t know if guilt is the right word. My baby is currently 9 weeks old. He’s a sweet and content baby as long as he’s fed and dry. I started him on a semi strict schedule around 5 weeks. I don’t beat myself up if he goes to bed later or doesn’t stay asleep as long. However most nights he sleeps 9pm->3am->8am. I’m very grateful for it. However I can’t help but feel “guilt” when people ask how he is at sleeping. I tell them “oh he sleeps good from 9 to 3 and then 3 to 8” I’m always met with “oh enjoy it while you can” “oh it won’t last for long”. I don’t understand why parents choose to meet that with negativity. Or they say how “lucky” I am. It makes me feel like the work I’ve put in for him to be on a schedule is worthless and all of it is based on “luck”. It’s a big annoyance and makes me scared of having another because what if I am just “lucky”.
