Shadow really likes Ness and Lucas :)
I‘ve watched multiple tutorials and have attempted this level multiple times, but I just cannot make it past it. I don’t know why. The guards are very strong in this level between their guns and their shield, so it’s very hard to kill them. I always end up taking a hit early on and then dying later. I know where the shield device is, and I always go to grab it. Most of the gameplay I’ve seen in this level was emulated on a PC with mouse controls, which seems much easier than on an N64 controller to me. I’m playing on original hardware, and while the controls are good, doing what you have to do to survive at times is very hard.
One time I was so close to beating this. On my farthest run, and went to go defuse the bomb, but a horde of enemies came and cornered me, and I lost.
Any help would be appreciate. This game rocks but it’s very difficult right now.
GameShark V2.2, got it yesterday and haven’t gotten it to work once. No matter what game I try it on, it simply says ‘8’ and does not boot. I’ve tried it with games from all of the 4 settings and nothing seems to work. I tried SM64, Banjo-Kazooie, F-Zero X and Ocarina of Time, all of which still yielded the same result. I ensured all four of those carts work on their own, and I tried to get them to work on the GameShark multiple times, yet nothing is working! I really just wanna use some cheats on Perfect Dark. :(
This is my dad’s old N64 console that he used to have back when he was my age. He gave it to me to let me play it!
The console has an Expansion Pak and I got a friend to modify the cartridge tray to region unlock the console while still keeping the dust flaps on.
• Player 1 - Original grey controller with rumble pak
• Player 2 - Original blue controller with transfer pak
• Player 3 - Third-party translucent red controller with controller pak
• Player 4 - Hey You, Pikachu! Voice module and microphone (I have the game, too!)
I’m very proud of this set up. Everything functions, too. Nothing is broken. It took about $150-$200 to fully come together, and I have over 15 games, half of them being Rare titles. I think the one piece that would make this the ultimate N64 set up is a 64DD, but I don’t believe I’ll be getting one of those at any point in my life lol.
What should I add to this set up? What would make it more awesome?
Forgot to mention I have a GameShark Pro, but it doesn’t seem to work anymore, I think it’s broken (will not boot with SM64 and I’ve tried dozens of times and different ways). Think I may buy a new one.
Today I began to replay Mother 1 and I started thinking about the lore. This game is my favorite of the three, and I had figured out a lot of the story details. Over a year ago was when I first played it.
But as I try to remember it, I can’t quite remember WHY I remember this specific detail. Ness and Lucas are born with their psychic abilities, and if I remember correctly, Ninten was not. He gained his psychic abilities from the poltergeist that occurred in his area when Giygas first came back down to Earth. whatever psychic energy brought his lamp and the baby doll to life, it gave him psychic powers, accidentally turning Ninten into a psychic/allowing him to learn psychic abilities in the future.
This is what I thought happened a year ago, but now I’m starting to question it. I remember somewhere’s in the game it hints at this/deliberately says it, but I can’t remember what it was or when it happened! Can anyone help me confirm this, or tell me that I’m misremembering?
I beat Mother 3. I finished the Earthbound trilogy.
You can ask me questions if you like, I might not respond for a bit. I need time to think about all that’s just happened. I’m posting this about 10 minutes after reaching the screen in the photo, so everything is still all fresh in my mind.
I will say this, though. This game made me cry. I’ll make a follow-up post sometime later after I’m done thinking this all over.
This model was made all by myself, minus the mesh I used for the shutter shades. I really like this result! I think it's a decently accurate model.
Let me know if you guys like this, and if you'd like to see more! I plan on using this Strong Bad model for things in the future. I might even make Homestar, too.
Not very original, just a fun little project I wanted to share. :D
