Opening for an opening level position

So our small team of 16 in a reletively big market research company posted an opening for a low/opening level position. It's jus' been a few days (not even a week literally). The posting was for an associate at a CTC of ₹3.8LPA.

In conversation with the reporting manager, the update on the posting comes up and the manager mentions that overnight the number of applicants jumped from 150+ to 500+

That is when the current state of our job market hit me - people are willing to take chances with low pay n grunt work posting and companies know that, further incentivising to keep the pay low. As for the quality of the applicants, well only time will tell...

Couple cook for each other - paneer sabji and chana dal sabudana payasam

My boyfriend came over to spend the day with me. We both have hybrid working arrangements, so we decided to work n spend our day together. Boyfriend had been keen on cooking something for me, given my appetite n the foodie I am. So he prepared paneer for me. Despite having to login at 9, he arrives early morning jus' to cook for us. 🥺😭

But ofc I had decided to surprise him beforehand by preparing his favourite payasam - chana dal sabudana payasam (with lots of dry fruits as he prefers), which IK he had been craving for a while. I decided to prepare it the night before so that I jus've to heat and serve him when he arrives in the morning. However, given it was my first time preparing it, I messed up a wee bit.. lucky for me, despite not getting the typical texture or golden brown colour, it tasted pretty on point. Unfortunately, he found it out before I could get on with the surprise. 🤦🏽😭

In all, a satisfying day with my beloved. 😌♥️

Wanted to buy edge 70 for family member. Already been using edge 60 pro for over half a year and been pretty content with it (except for the repeated and sudden restart issue which one has been able to help resolve yet but manageable).

As the images show, was hoping on getting additional discounts as mentioned since I use IDFC FB CC. But when I head to payments portal, no such discount is being added. I remember while I was buying my edge 60 pro, those discounts were added right below that total payable amount, but not the case here.

So wanted to know, am I missing something? Or did they revoke the offer and forgot to update the page (which would be a hilarious blunder on the company's part)?

TLDR: Broke the sole of my partner's Balenciaga Speed Knit sneakers, is replacement of sole an option and how?

A while back, my partner and I went on a date and given my inept fashion sense, they recommended me using their shoes instead of my old daily use sneakers. We took an hour of train ride for our date and it wasn't until later I was pointed out that the shoe of the shoe had started to come off. Yes the sole was a bit rigid and given my habit as a tall 6'1 person to bend my knees and foot in low height seats and tuck them underneath the seat during crowded moments, which is what I did, wasn't really a good idea.

Ofc my partner was chill about it and we got me a different footwear outside the station to continue with our date. We tried to get the shoe repaired first, but couldn't as the sole was jus' flaking off, bits and pieces of the broken sole, like aggressively rubbing two pieces of styrofoam against each other.

Later during the day I got to know that my partner had gotten them in Ireland while studying there a couple years back (we live in SA not Eur). They clearly cherished the shoe dearly and mentioned trying getting a different sole for it but it's been 2 months and no progress on that front yet.

I was planning to get things in motion and maybe find a different but suitable sole for those pair, but not sure if that'd work. Plus I don't even know the actual model of the shoes, couldn't ask about that so I Google it and from what I remember the shoe closely resembles Balenciaga Speed Knit sneakers (attaching a picture for reference of the shoe). So I wanna know how feasible is the idea of changing the sole for that shoe, which jus' has the cloth part of it intact and the sole completely torn away.

Before anyone recommends, yes I asked my partner to get it asked at nearby Balenciaga store but they dismissed it saying those salespeople would rather have us buy a new one than put efforts for this older worn out one.
