Hey yall, so i got one of these garden sheds, size is 190cm by 122cm. I have dug out a rectangle into the ground slightly bigger than the fram i built for the concrete. The frame timber is 10cm deep so im thinking making the concrete that deepth.

Its going to hold a washing machine and dryer. The soil is quite soft so ive dug 30cm deep, do i need to use gravel or small rocks to lay down the base? Im thinking 10cm gravel and 5cm sand? I also have some small mesh i got for free id lay down.

When the cement is finished how do i make the surface nice and smooth? I seen some people will use the trout and smothen the top and edges but then i notice they come back a few hours later to spray some water and go over with a brush?

Also is this cement bags all right to use?

Concrete pad for small garden shed?

Hi, ive never done concreting before was hoping to get some advice if i have the right idea.

I plan to install a garden shed size 1.9m x 1.2m so im thinking to make a concrete pad for
It about 2m x 1.3m. This is mainly for a washing machine and dryer to go inside.

So far my understanding:

Dig the grass out to the size of 2m x 1.3m and install the framing to spec and measure and use leveller to make sure it’s all flat. Then pour some gravel at the base and compact, then add some mesh and then pour the concrete and flatten out with those trout tools to make it smooth on the top and edges.

How deep does the dirt dig out need to be to fit the gravel plus the concrete mixture? Can i use any concrete mixture like the fast curing stuff?

Do i need to brush over it, how do make the finishing touches so it looks professional? Ive seen on youtube they say wait for a few hours then brush over it.

FDR method is Mandatory under PIE Funds?

With all this talk around an AI bubble, does’nt this make our kiwisaver and PIE Funds less of a safe haven if we get a few negative years in the stock market? FDR will tax you if you made no returns each year. For example if we have a lost 5-10 years of no returns similar to dotcom that would put a massive dent in many peoples KS and Pie Funds.

The thigh is the grossest part of a chicken

I am a breast guy all day. I can’t stand the texture and juices that come out of a thigh peices it’s like its raw and too soft. Everyone i know loves the thigh or drum stick which i think tastes disgusting even if its KFC or popeyes.

Up over 38% on an ETF since April lows from Iran war, would it be wise to buy here?

I am about to receive a large payout roughly 200k which i want to dump in stocks for retirement but my gut tells me i don’t feel comfortable dumping six figures into my retirement fund ETF (IGM) here after its ran up 40% in 1 month.
