I feel terrible...

I paid for a three hour or less Express order. It got accepted right away and the person who I was sending it to received it in less than an hour.

The loved one is someone recovering in a long term facility after a stroke. His mobility is severely affected, but thankfully not his ability to safely eat and enjoy food.

I ordered from Walmart because I wanted him to get a hot meal he would like, plus some snack food and a little jar of seasoning to make the terrible facility food somewhat more palatable.

The hot deli food I chose wasn't available, but the shopper/driver did say he could sub a rotisserie chicken, via text.

I was at work, but I texted back in less than three minutes that the chicken was okay.

He replied "Eyez"

I have no idea what that means, so I responded via text, "?"

No further replies.

The app said he had already begun checking out. So I figured he couldn't wait those three minutes, which I understand since he's trying to make money. I believed there would be no hot food delivered, but the other stuff would be.

The drop off also required a pin code. I called and spoke with the driver and also texted him the code. The driver's first language wasn't English.

The things did get delivered, but there was a scramble at the facility because he demanded a code from the front desk person at the facility even though I already told my driver via a phone call and texted him what it was. I also had it in my delivery instructions that the order was allowed to be handed to the front desk person.

He told the front desk person he had to take the order back to the store, because whoever was on shift at that time hadn't been given the code. But the driver did have it, because I told him in two different ways. I had to be called at work to clear things up.

To sum this all up, I found out later that he DID sub the chicken and everything ultimately got delivered.

But before I knew that, I left a not mean, but not flattering, review due to lack of good communication.

Thankfully I didn't rescind the tip, which was $5.00 (33 %) on a 4 item shop and a trip less than one and a half miles from the store to my loved one's facility. The actual grocery total was $15.00, but of course the order ended up costing a good bit more due to the small order and express fees.

I now feel terrible about my review and want to update it because, ultimately, the job was done. Is there a way? I didn't see one.

It's Saturday and I have to work...

but at least I'm starting the day off with my cheese and veggie scramble. I like big pieces of veggie that are warmed through and still a little crunchy.

I cannot find a way to get the skin crispy without overcooking the salmon. Skin side down, skin side up...I can't make it work. It's so frustrating!
