Our MIX Summer 2026 Showcase Results

So I've seen some other posts in the past about whether the $600 MIX fee was worth it. In our case for our game, Unhappening, it was. I opted to do the in-person event, so we were only featured on the Steam event sale page, and at the Grammy Museum rooftop event this past weekend.

The in-person event was pretty small, but packed to the gills with folks, and reached capacity fairly quickly. Some of our team had to wait an hour to get in, based on the number of people leaving (one in, one out rule). Would I do the in-person again? Honestly, probably. I met a handful of cool connections, some with links to funding, and it was nice to see people playing our game in real time. Some loved it, some didn't get it, and that was okay. All feedback is valuable for us to further fine-tune the demo.

The Steam event page is where the magic really happened for us, as we scored roughly 1200 wishlists over the course of the week. Chart for ref, you can see the huge spike once the event started: https://imgur.com/a/tzektrP

Doing the math that's about $.50 a wishlist; on the lower end of average. It remains to be seen if the momentum continues at all post-event, but so far today there have been roughly 50 adds (for comparison, our prior daily was around 5 before any sort of promotions etc).

YMMV on all of this, but wanted to offer another perspective in case anyone is considering. It should be noted, though, that the Summer event coincides with Summer Games Fest, so there was likely more eyeballs than usual.

So stoked to hit this without any real demos to speak of (we have a playable proof-of-concept, public-facing in-person demos will start next month). Every bit helps, and it's all organic. Celebrating each milestone as they come! <3

I’m about to dress up as our main character and make a bunch of ridiculous videos. Definitely no stranger to making an ass out of myself for a cause 🤣

What about y’all?

Title pretty much says it all! We formed our studio, Remanom Games, after being laid off from another studio last year. What started as a project to help us with portfolio pieces during job hunting, has become a full-fledged project! We now have a Steam page, and are actively building community, doing showcases, and other stuff to get the word out. We're still pretty early on, just passing the vertical slice stage, with a full Steam demo due in the fall - just in time for Next Fest 😉

Would love some eyeballs on our page, be it good, bad, or everything in between, and wishlist if you feel so kind about it!

Developed in a few days between myself and our art director as some light stress relief. Our main game, Unhappening, is still in pre-alpha (an actual serious game...) and we started mucking about on a booty-themed survivors-like. Totally free to play, and can be done on desktop or mobile - WASD controls (and IJKL if you want local co-op!), or a controller at your own risk. The controllers mostly work but there's a bug with it not being able to properly pause with the Options button etc.

Anyway, have fun, and turn off your brain; we definitely did to make this lololol.
