[Routine Help] Building a New Routine - Perioral dermatitis friendly

Hello everyone!

I’ve been struggling with perioral dermatitis that I got from tret about 1.5 years ago and I have finally been able to get it under control ( using de la Cruz sulfur ointment every couple days).

I wanna get back into building a routine as I’ve been using only plain soap and moisturiser for a while and only recently added back spf. My main problems are dullness, texture, whiteheads on the nose and hyperpigmentation from pimples ( not full blown acne though).

I’d love some suggestions of perioral dermatitis friendly products/routine I can start to build!

Weekend Trips

Hello everyone!

I’ve been living in Vancouver for less than 6 months now but as someone who’s lived in Europe almost all my life, I was wondering where people are going on vacations?

I’m wondering where you guys tend to go on weekend trips, week long trips, trips by train, trips by bus and anything else that might be good to share! I don’t drive so I’m limited in that sense but I’m happy to hear literally anything else

Paulie’s in Shoreditch

We got the Paulie Pie NYC slice, The cacio e pepe square slice and the limited time Moroccan spice lamb square slice. I loved the Paulie and the Cacio e Pepe - might be the best pizzas I’ve had in my life. Didn’t like the Moroccan lamb so much but I really appreciate the creativity, I’m also not a fan of olives, pomegranate or apricots so that’s definitely a factor.

24f Soft and (maybe) Hard advice

I know weight loss is my #1 rn - they did not lie about gaining relationship weight.

I got perioral dermatitis from tret almost two years ago so I’ve been hesitant to restart a skincare routine just in case it flares up but I’m open to some suggestions still. I’ve included full face, light makeup and no makeup pictures (don’t mind the poses I don’t take pictures very often)

I’m happy to get some hardcore advice, I’ve gotten composite bonding before to close a gap and repair a chip on my front teeth and I’ve had braces so I’m pretty satisfied in that realm (I know teeth aren’t in any of the pictures) . I’m happy to hear any other recommendations too.

British English Tutor Offering Online Speaking Practice (Conversation Focused)

Hey everyone!

I’m a British English tutor offering online 1:1 lessons for anyone who wants to improve their speaking confidence and sound more natural in English.

Most of my lessons are conversation-based, and I like to use real-life materials like videos, music, and everyday topics to help students speak more naturally (not just textbook English). I also break down grammar in a simple way when needed so it actually clicks in conversation.

I’m currently taking on a few new students, mainly adults and young people at beginner/intermediate level, so if anyone is interested or struggling with speaking confidence, feel free to message me or ask questions.

English Tutor (UK) – TEFL Certified - Private Online Lessons Available

Hi! I’m a TEFL-certified English tutor from England, currently based in Canada.

I have experience teaching English to learners from different backgrounds, with a focus on improving speaking fluency, pronunciation, and confidence in real-life communication. My lessons are practical, conversational, and tailored to each student’s goals (work, travel, study, or everyday English).

Alongside tutoring, I’ve worked in college admissions and also in a university supporting students with placements and employability. This has given me strong experience helping people improve communication skills for academic and professional settings.

I currently tutor on Preply, but I’m also taking on a few private students for more flexible, personalised lessons. For private students, I offer reduced rates compared to platform tutoring, as I’m building a small independent student base.

If you’re interested in improving your spoken English in a supportive and structured way, feel free to message me and we can arrange a trial lesson.

Just started out - low profile position

I’ve just started out tutoring English and have yet to get any students but I have a terrible profile position. I’m currently at 2764.

I have an TEFL certificate, a verified degree, I took the Preply teaching course, I have 43 popular time slots and they range from 6am to midnight on everyday except weekends. I have a video with a thumbnail too. I’m not sure what else I could change to get a better position.

So far I’ve had 17 profile views and I currently charge $12 but I’m hesitant to reduce it just yet - if I have to I will.

New Preply Tutor Looking for Tips!

Hello everyone! I’ve just been approved for teaching on preply and I plan to start at the beginning of July.

For context, I’m a native English speaker from England and I’m charging $12 an hour (I live in Canada so this isn’t too bad). This is currently my only income so I’d like to be as booked as possible. I’m trying to get good results from the platform and be working at least 20 hours a week.
I’m just looking for the best tips for people like me, just starting out teaching on this platform. Thank you!

Pest Issue Cleaning

Hello!

I’ve been having issues with mice in my apartment that I reported 3 months ago. The only thing they did until now was set poison but after leaving the apartment for over a week the droppings were back.

Notably, the droppings have been concentrated on and inside the couch so we have not used the couch for over three months as it’s a health risk for us. It seems like they are finally going to seal the entrances to prevent them coming in again.

Would it be reasonable to request that they send someone to clean the couch professionally? I don’t see why I should be the one to pay if I reported the issue and they essentially allowed it to continue.

(I’ve only just moved to BC so I’m not that familiar with how everything works so apologies if I’m missing something)

Confusion about I-94

I’m a British citizen currently living in Vancouver, BC with a work permit.

I’ve crossed the land border at least a half dozen times but usually in my partners car. Most times I’ve flown into the USA and crossed into Vancouver for a weekend (before I moved) but the most recent time we drove over to the US after I landed in Canada (and received my work permit).

This time I got a greyhound to the US and for the first time I’ve been required to buy the I-94. I’ve never been asked or even had it mentioned to me before.

I was wondering why I’ve never needed it before, what was different this time? And also will I be required to pay every time I enter by greyhound or also by car? My guess is that the last time I entered the US was over two months ago and that’s why but I’m unsure.

Forgive me if I’m being oblivious , they didn’t explain anything at the border about it! Thanks :)

Can I break my lease for this?

I moved into an apartment in New Westminster, BC in January this year, and the place has had quite a few problems. I’ve only just moved to Canada so please forgive me if there’s anything obvious I’m missing or not understanding!

About 3 months after moving in, I found mouse droppings around the apartment and a huge amount in and around the couch. I reported it to the landlords and they sent pest control who then placed poison in the kitchen and living room. When this happened I realised that the apartment had terrible sealing and gaps around the heaters and cupboards in every room and added steel wool in the worst of them. The pest control came back last week and checked the poison boxes - which had not been touched by any mice but also added roach bait (so I assume there has been an issue in the building). They did not check for any entrance holes or gaps or seal anything. I haven’t noticed any other mouse activity but I’m worried that it’s only due to me being loud and present in the apartment that’s driving them away.

I’ve just now seen a frass pile from carpenter ants in the kitchen and at this point, I’m not really interested in living in an apartment of this state. It has no obvious visual issues but this amount of pest issues within 6 months of living here is extremely off putting. Considering that the inadequate sealing is a causing both the mouse and carpenter ant problem - would there be any way that there is a breach of BC residential tenancy act here?

I’ve done some research on it already and understand that I have to give them formal notice and reasonable time to fix the problems but does anyone have any idea on what would be considered reasonable for something like this? Or any experience with a similar situation?
