How do you go from a newsletter to a media company?

So for the last few months I have been building a newsletter in the make money online niche.

Now I have been reading a lot about other newsletters, big media companies to be precise.

For example: MarketBeat, StarterStory, 1440, Morning Brew, TLDR, etc etc.

Now how do I go from a newsletter operator to a media company.

I am currently sending 2-3 emails a week. The first step I know is to send 2-3 emails a day.

What else needs to be done?

P.S- I have 3.5k subs so far, all from Reddit. Have never ran any paid campaigns and stuff.

What side hustle do you guys want me to test next month?

Hey guys, Kris from Wifi Moolah this side.

I write about online side hustles on my newsletter and there’s a segment where I try out the popular side hustles for a month and see if it’s actually legit or not.

So far I have tested:

• X Monetisation
• Newsletter
• Clipping

Have posted results on my website.

Now looking for the next side hustle to experiment for the month of July.

Comment below the side hustle you guys want me to test next.

I was thinking maybe buying a site and growing it and then flipping it..

CPC ads are like a scam for publishers

I just realised cpc ads are nothing but a scam for publishers.

I own a newsletter with 3.2k subs and use beehiiv ads to monetize. Now I agree it’s the most convenient way to monetize but it’s also the worst way to monetize.

Why?

Because very few people actually click on the ads but almost everyone sees it.

So advertising is basically showing up long enough for a customer to register the product in his mind and by sending CPC ads, we are showing him the product but still not getting paid because he/she is not gonna click.

What are your thoughts on this?

My newsletter made $3k+ and I want to help a few others to do it too

Context: I started a newsletter 4 months ago and have already made like $3k in revenue from that.

I mean the business model is so stupidly simple that I literally want more and more people to do it.

I already have a free guide that tells you how I did it & how you can do it too but cmon, I don’t think anyone’s taking any action after reading that.

It’s like another free guide that just sits there in your inbox and people just read it for the vanity.

I really wanna help as many people possible by teaching them the basics and making them capable of running their own newsletter side hustle.

I don’t wanna build a paid course tho, Because I feel a paid course comes with a lot of responsibility and I don’t have that much time & bandwidth to cater people to justify the money they paid.

The only problem is that I tried doing this once before for free and I got nothing but time wasters. People do not value free stuff, everyone knows this.

So kinda confused what to do. Need some innovative approach for this.

TLDR; wanna teach people how to make money from newsletter side hustle, don’t wanna build a paid course cuz it’s just too much work & I already have too much on my plate but free also doesn’t work because nobody appreciates free value.

I made my first software affiliate income and it’s as passive as it gets

Everyone today pays and uses some or the other software. I am sure even you might have a few subscriptions.

Here’s the kicker, most of these softwares have an affiliate program and if you promote them, it’s a very lucrative side hustle.

Here’s my story and how I am making passive income by affiliating for softwares.

I run a FREE newsletter called Wifi Moolah. It’s in the make money online niche so naturally I research and talk to a lot of people making money online.

Now there’s this specific software called Beehiiv that enables me to collect emails, write the issues and send them. There’s also an ad network inside that lets you put in ads inside the mails and make money off of it. The best part? It has a very generous affiliate program too (50% commission for 1 year)

So I talked about this software in a couple of my mails and maybe a few times on Reddit too. Put in my affiliate link and then forgot about it.

It got like 80+ clicks in total and I didn’t think much of it and one day I got a notification that I made a sale. Now it was just for $19/month but the great thing about it is I would get paid every month as long as that guy is a customer.

That’s like $228 just from one sale.

This is just the beginning as I just realized the actual power of affiliate programs for softwares.

There are quite a few other softwares that I use on a daily basis like Wispr Flow or Sparkloop and I have enrolled in their affiliate programs too. Would start promoting them too actively.

Now in my defence, I have done affiliate marketing in the past too but for courses. Those were like one time thing but the recurring part for these softwares is what makes it amazing.

So here’s what you can do too:

  1. Build an audience. It can be a newsletter or a blog or a social media account.
  2. Talk about products you yourself use
  3. Enroll in their affiliate programs
  4. Make money

There are some websites that actually offer more than one affiliate opportunities ( Clickbank, Dub, etc) and signing up on them is a much better strategy

Now if anyone wants to start a newsletter business from scratch, I have a FREE guide that shows how I went from 0 to $3k. Comment below if you need it.

See you guys next time

I started making money from my NEWSLETTER when I stopped listening to people saying email is dead

I started making money from my Newsletter when I stopped listening to people who kept saying:

"Email is dead."

“No one reads newsletters anymore.”

"AI kills your job"

"Don't start a Newsletter"

"It's impossible to make money from sending newsletters."

...and all the other negative stuff that gets repeated over and over. The funny thing is, a lot of the people saying these things have never built a successful newsletter themselves. I even know people who have built nothing themselves and yet still go yapping about how making money online is a scam just because they chose to believe in a scammer once.

Yes, I write newsletters. Yes, I make money from it, and it takes a lot. I don't really feel the need to validate that to anyone.

For anyone feeling discouraged, just keep going. Making money online isn't easy, but discipline and consistency are still the biggest weapons you have. Most people quit way too early, then blame scams instead of their lack of patience. That's just my experience.

If you’re good at writing, these 3 side hustles will make you a lot of money

Everyone thinks content writing is dead. AI has replaced it. To a certain extent, this is true.

If you’re just writing plain vanilla articles, or writing social media captions, you’re literally gonna make nothing.

But writing is not limited to these, it’s far more nuanced and if you just have a basic understanding and your foundations are clear, you can still make a good earning.

Here are 3 writing gigs that still prints money:

  1. Copywriting: One thing ai can never replicate is understanding emotions. Copywriting is a skill that’s highly sought after and will always do.

So copywriting is basically writing copy for ads, landing pages, funnels, websites, etc.

There are tons of opportunities in this field even today?

How to start?

Read books like breakthrough advertising, the boron letters, scientific advertising to understand the basic principles and cold outreach to find clients.

  1. Ghostwriting: Ghostwriting basically means writing for someone else. You can ghostwrite books, autobiographies, X/LinkedIn content.

Again this is a niche in itself, I have personally done Twitter Ghostwriting and I know it’s highly lucrative even today if you understand the platform. I made six figures doing it.

  1. Newsletters: If you can write well and you have some expertise of a specific subject, you can create a newsletter around it, grow it and make money off of it.

People think email is dead, but they’re wrong. It’s actually flourishing. I started a newsletter 4 months ago and have already made $3k from it. I have a free guide that teaches how you can do it too, comment below if you would like to see it.

I have always considered writing as my core skill and you need to up skill and rebrand into something more specific that creates more value and in turn you get paid more.

So yes basic content writing might be dead and replaced by ai, but if you specialise in something and get good at that skill, you’ll never be replaced.

Starting a new Reddit marketing agency

Hello guys, It’s Kris this side. I have been working on a Newsletter since some months now & Reddit has been the no. 1 growth channel for me. Turns out, it isn’t as easy as it looks. I have gotten approx 1000+ signups from Reddit alone & when I told people about it, they were astonished.

Nobody believed me because Reddit doesn’t let you promote. Hence I worked harder and polished this skill more.

Now I’m thinking of offering this as a service for businesses who understand how powerful Reddit is, and this is the announcement kinda post here.

Kinda also posting here cuz this agency would totally be built in Public & from scratch.

My goal is to make it a $10k/month business by the end of this year.

If anyone wants to drop some suggestions for me, I’ll be thankful.

I’ve generated 1000+ signups for a newsletter just from Reddit. AMA

So I recently came across this term called Reddit Marketing and figured out that I have been doing it since a couple of months now for a Newsletter.

It’s a real pain point for marketers here bcz they are not able to understand how to do it because Reddit is very strict about the rules and users immediately call out promos.

I have been essentially using Reddit since almost a decade now. This is my top used app, even before Instagram lol.

If anyone wants to know how to do it, you can ask me questions and I would gladly try to help you out jn the comments.

Thanks.

Side hustle of the day: A course funnel business

Hey there, Kris from Wifi Moolah this side. Today I came across a side hustle that involves creating and selling courses.

Now first of all, I know everyone who hears of an online course, thinks of a SCAM but trust me this is a $300billion+ market worldwide and it’s only a scam if you’re not providing any actual value.

The first step is to identify a skill, probably something that helps people make more money. It can be like teaching Ecom, blogging or even drop-shipping.

Let’s take drop-shipping for example (I know this is the most worn out idea but I’m just telling you an example, you do the thinking part for yourself)

Create a course around drop-shipping. Now you need to know the stuff and can also use ai for better structure and help. You can also maybe partner up with someone who knows the stuff to build the course.

Price it low & sell it using FB ads.

The initial goal is to have a minimum 250-500 customers and if you don’t make a profit to begin with, it’s fine.

Why?

Bcz you now have a list of 500 people who are warm to you and purchase courses online.

The next step is to create another complimentary course. Let’s say “How to run FB ads”. Again run fb ads for it plus also promote it to the previous 500 customers. Even a 20% conversion for warm customers means 100 sales which is decent.

Now you can actually build a chain of courses like this & make some good money off of it.

Even if you acquire new customers at cost, further courses will help you make a profit.

Now don’t say drop-shipping is old and doesn’t work anymore. I know. I am just giving an example of the structure and it can be done to almost any niche. Do it for hobbies, do it for skills, anything.

Some other plus points of this side hustle:

  1. You are not answerable to any boss/clients
  2. You do not need to build a personal brand (although its nice to have)
  3. You’ll have an asset for lifetime (the list)

Once you set it up and it works well, it is a kind of passive income too. You just have to check and structure for your ads and make sure nothing is broken.

Do you know anyone who has done this?
