Bird Leg Cabin
One of my hobbies is to draw layouts of fictional locations from movies, video games, etc. I have done several attempts to draw blueprint for Bird Leg Cabin from the first Alan Wake and everytime I hit the same problem: the layouts of first floor and second floor don't match each other.

I know that all the dimensions are directional at best, but even with artistical freedom the first floor is too big to share outer walls with the second floor. This is the first impression.

When I tried to plan out the 2nd floor first, I placed the staircase in the middle of the house (as does the 2nd floor indicate in game). But when I used the staircase as the focal point for the 1st floor, the so called kitchen / dining areas back wall went too far, compared to the inset open area under the 2nd floor stairs.

If this isn't enough, there are placed several doors in cabin, that don't open but do indicate that there is at least two rooms more at the first floor - two doors at the inset area next to stairs and one door on the front pario. Adding these areas into cabin's first floor layout, it turns the floor into square than rectangle, which is the default layout of the cabin, based on aerial image of the Diver's Island (minus the front and back patios.

What I'm wonderin is that am I missing someting that would make all these areas to fit togerher nicely, or did the level designer just cut some corners with the exterior, fist floor and second floor designs?
Ethnical groups of races / species
I'm building fantasy / steampunk world where there are several common fantasy races / species (elves, dwarves, etc.). I'm trying to give them my own spin, by not going with the traditional subgroups like wood elves, dark elves (you get the picture), but instead giving every fantasy races / species their own ethnic groups.
I'm not trying to rebrand wood elves as "amazonian elves" for instance, but to give these fantasy races somewhat different fluff based on their place of hereditary origin, culture etc.
Does this sound too much like I'm trying to invent the wheel again, or does this sound something that I should continue to explore further?
Few lore questions
Although I am familiar with He-Man and MotU for over 30 years, I'm rather new to the lore. So I have few questions about it:
• Who or what are the Ancient Ones? Are they the same deities as Zoar, Horokoth and Zalasie?
• I know about Noah, Ramlin and Tauron of the Five Wizards of Preternia, but who are the last two?
