Will Medicaid charge me for ER visit if the findings are normal?

I've been having difficulty breathing and chest tightness for the last 5 days. Chest Xray is clear. I've visited a PCP and pulmonologist, but only given a rescue inhaler with no relief. I run out of breath, just from talking and finishing sentences. I considered going to the ER last night, as I was out of breath, trying to sleep. Being scared of the healthcare bills, does anyone know if medicaid will charge you for ER visit if the findings are normal or if they deem unnecessary?

1 Month Contract Job over income limit [NY]

Hi, I've been unemployed for a year, currently on medicaid, and recently been offered a 1 month contract gig. It'd pay about 10k, which is over the monthly income limit. The paychecks would be received weekly (9/4, 9/11, 9/18, 9/25).

Knowing I have to report income within 30 days (10/4 is 30th day), do you rush and report it at the end of Sept (the month with higher income)?

Or report it at the beginning of Oct (the month with no income)?

For those who did skin biopsy, how does this procedure go?

I'm looking for insight on the skin biopsy procedure that I'll be having tomorrow. I really don't know much about it, so if you've done this procedure, please share your experiences (good or bad). I'd like to hear your thoughts.

How do you prepare for skin biopsy?
Which body part do they do the test?
Where is the lidocaine injection?
Is it painful?
Is it a mandatory procedure?

Thank you

New York Medicaid - Increased Income due to Stocks Sale/Reallocation

Hi everyone, I'm trying to understand the consequences of realizing capital gains. I'm unemployed and on medicaid with re-evaluation at Feb 2027. Looking to sell stocks and reallocate into index funds. This would lead to an unexpected large amount of realized capital gains, resulting in a significantly higher 2026 income, which is way over medicaid eligibility limit.

I'm wondering if anybody has been through similar situations and is able to share experiences/thoughts.
Is there 12 month continuous coverage or will medicaid stop immediately?
Would I still be able to apply for medicaid next year?
What happens going forward?

Thanks in advance

Trying to figure out Capital Gains Tax [NY]

Hi everyone, I'm looking to reallocate my portfolio in my brokerage account. This would mean liquidating everything, resulting in about 250k long term capital gains. No salary, income of 10k from dividends. Single resident living in NYC.

Inputting these numbers into smartasset calculator shows about 55k tax. Chatgpt shows 60k tax and Gemini shows range of 53-70k tax. So I'm just trying to get a more precise estimate, if anyone can help, I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
