Blocking roads

I guess we just had storms, but it seems like every street that I pass in Bloomington, there’s a Komatsu blocking the road. I just feel like there has to be a better way to pick up brush, especially if you’re doing it on a daily basis. If I’m alone, I’ll shut up…

Ramsey and Disney World

I said this before and I’ll say it again, the Dave Ramsey show is like Disney World. Everything’s made up. Everything seems great on the inside, as long as you’ve never experienced anything else in the real world.

Speed limit

Can I ask what the general consensus is on how fast people drive in town? I feel like if you drive the speed limit everywhere you’re just going way too slow and if you drive 10 to 15 over you risk getting a speeding ticket. I usually drive about 5 to 7 over and always feels like I’m just going way too close for everyone else. I mostly manage my time well enough to wear. I’m never really in a hurry so I don’t really care. I just kind of want to know what other people do.

Resignation coming soon 😢

I’d accepted a new full-time job and will be turning in my resignation soon. Ever since our station merged and went 2.0 I’ve been treated like actual dirt as far as hours and shift go. I have to commute 45 minutes to work each day and barely clear five hours a day in Pay. I am just tired- mentally and physically. I have almost 10 years of seniority and have applied to several positions internally and none of them have turned out. I accepted a full-time job five minutes from where I live with a new company. This truly is sad, I definitely feel like FedEx is my home but for right now I have to leave the mothership.

PIP

Been with the company for almost 10 years then we merged to a 2.0 station. Was placed on an absolute shit route for six months and ask my manager a total of four times to be considered for a different route. Well, last week things went South and my performance slipped and he issues me a PIP. Customer complains and provides a completely false narrative of what happened. Is there any kind of recourse in this case? I was a swing driver for 10 years and never had a single issue until I transferred to the station under this manager.

65mph is more unsafe than safe

Being able to barely keep up with traffic on the interstate and being passed by semi’s carrying tons and tons of freight just seems unsafe. Express really needs to update their speed limit to at least 70.

State Farm sucks

Has anyone dealt with the underbelly of State Farm insurance? I know being from Bloomington normal most people are either employees or have State Farm but I genuinely think they suck as a company from an ethical standpoint. I mean, look at them canceling insurance policies for people affected by wildfires. They will literally cancel your insurance and then market to their neighbor the next day because they are less of a risk.

Two people arguing on the trail about E bikes

Today we were walking on the trail and listened to two women arguing about E-bikes. The one was upset because the other one passed her on an ebike. She also mentioned them being illegal. Just wanted to spread the word that E bikes are completely legal both on the trail and on the street. Whether you like them or not is your own issue.

Wondering if anyone has had their Apple CarPlay service completely disconnect at the intersection of GE and Airport Road in Bloomington. I have driven a few different vehicles through this area and it seems like every time, the service just shuts off and resets itself. I’m wondering if it’s some kind of interference or if anyone else has had this issue? Wondering if it’s interference from the substation nearby but I also have no idea.
