Inner thigh pimple? Boil? Not quite sure.

26/M/USA

Noticed some pain in my inner thigh yesterday when I walked, so I felt around and found this guy. I’m guessing it’s from chub rub, but I’ve never gotten one of these before and I’m not entirely sure how to treat it. If it is a boil, are a doctors visit and antibiotics mandatory? Can I treat it here at home? Definitely not gonna pop it myself.

Hurts a bit when I step wrong but nothing severe or debilitating.

First shift of the new job tomorrow, any advice?

Landed a job as a dishwasher in a hospital, pretty excited to start! Never worked in the dishpit before, but I spent a few years as a server in an assisted living facility so the setting isn’t too strange for me I bought some waterproof boots and those anti-fatigue insoles, got ibuprofen on standby too, haha. There’s about 5 or 6 dishwashers per shift from what the kitchen manager was telling me during the interview process, any advice to not seem like a complete idiot during training?

Any advice for a 25 year old college dropout trying to find work?

Hey there. I’m sorry if this post is a bit ramble-y, I’m kind of coming down from a panic attack and need to vent about how much it sucks trying to find work. I’m sure a lot of people can relate.

I’m 25, and all I really have to show for my life is a high school diploma. I’m desperately trying to find work, but it feels like my applications are going right into Ye Olde Void. I live in Tucson, our job market’s borderline nonexistent at the best of times and not having a degree only really makes it worse. Especially now that summer’s beginning and the snowbirds are departing.

I’ve applied to a few of the hospitals here for their food service worker roles, because my only work experience was in the kitchens of a retirement home and then a private university back in KY. I’ve heard nothin’ back so far. I apply to the local grocery chains and Walmart, because I figured I can spin having to handle hungry old people and college students into working in their deli/bakery sections. Nothin’. I look up amazon’s job listings because hey, screw it, right? Just go work in a warehouse like everyone always says. They had one opening 70 miles away and nothin’ else.

I just don’t know what to do anymore, yknow? My availability is wide open, I’ll work myself to death if they’d give me a chance. Do I go resume-in-hand to random restaurants and offer to wash dishes? Do I go try and survive a soul-crushing call center? Would any of those places even really want me? Every time someone’s said “Oh, blank’s always hiring, all you need is a pulse and to show up on time,” I’ve tried applying and have gotten ghosted. Moving’s not an option, so it’s just… ugh. Sorry again. Times are tough for everyone.

I’m living with my disabled mother for now, so I’m not homeless, but man. Man.

For a few days now I’ve had this itchy, red line down my buttocks that has slowly crept up the sides. It bleeds ever so slightly when I try to wipe it with a wet wipe, I’m guessing it’s a yeast infection/jock itch/something or other, and I’m trying to get into my doctor to get it looked at.

I’ve been swapping back and forth between Gold Bond and Nystatin powder I have from an old, unrelated rash, but is there anything else I should try in the meantime? Anyone else have one of these?
