Went to a rodeo yesterday 🐎

Went to the rodeo yesterday to watch some bull riding. Felt like a good time to wear my favorite Stetson and my 50s suede and wool cropped Western jacket 🤌

1950s Carolyn Schnurer embroidered playsuit

Crossed off another one of my brand ISOs recently 😍😍 I've been looking for a piece from her forever, but couldn't justify the price tag, especially with my current health issues making my weight unstable and fluctuate as of late 😮‍💨 fortunately this one was an absolute bargain and while a bit tight, still fits! And hopefully once my body and metabolism go back to normal, it'll fit perfectly 🤗 I hope everyone is had a great summer⛱️

All time favorite find 😍

First time poster on here, and probably a super niche thing to be excited about, but I found Audubon's Birds of America baby elephant edition for $100 this weekend and I literally screamed in the store, I've always wanted one 😭😍 they also had The History of France in Paintings but I didn't buy it. Maybe if it goes on sale🤷‍♀️

Scored some awesome 70s lamps off marketplace for $40

Got these amazing lamps!!! They look so cool and they are so cheap. the woman I bought them from says she doesn't remember where she got them, but she's the original owner and she got them in Boston, so IDK who made them and Google lens was no help, but oh well!

I do have a question though, one of the lamps is missing that little metal ring that holds up the shades, does anyone know where I can get a replacement??

Just got myself my first classic for my 30th birthday!

Turning 30 this coming Tuesday, and I figured I'd ring in the new decade with one of my dream cars!! I've always wanted an old Thunderbird, and this 1964 is just 🫠 the carb and power steering need some work, but I'm really excited and I thought I'd share ✌️

I can't believe this was free 😭❤️

Was doom scrolling fbmp today and this lovely woman was giving this away for FREE!!! I've never hit reply so fast, it's in perfect condition and will be a lovely addition to my bedroom furniture.. my current mid century headboard is gorgeous, but not the same vibe as everything else so I'm psyched🙏I think it's a Jack Cartwright, what do y'all think?

(Don't mind the disarray in the background, I'm getting my kitchen redone 😅 although I'm glad to see my new cabinets do in fact match my furniture lol)

Another Stolen Post

Hey y'all,

For everyone sending me messages asking why I removed the popular post of the young lady in the 50s dress, it's because it was a stolen photo from a post from 4 years ago that a karma farmer reposted. This photo was stolen and brought to my attention, so I removed the stolen post. To the person who informed me, thank you letting me know. For all the people messaging me angrily, please chill out and do research before you jump down my throat, I don't take things down for no good reason....

This was the most requested decade on the first decade of the month thread, so hopefully y'all will want to/enjoy interacting on this one more!

I figured the 1950s would be a popular decade for the thread for discussion and appreciation on this sub, as there is a lot of romanticism and nostalgia built around it right now as well as many avid collectors, including myself!

We'd love to see your favorite 50s outfits, 50s inspo, your favorite 50s style icons, your favorite TRUE 50s garments, favorite clothing brands from the 50s, and if you lived in the 50s, what trends you remember growing up with and loving. Feel free to add your photos and stories below.. Once the month has concluded and we've finished out the month, this post will remain with the flair so people can easily find it and look back on it if they want to learn more about 50s fashion.

We'll also be announcing the best 50s outfit from this post based on y'all's upvotes, and the winner will get their outfit shouted out on the highlights tab of the sub for a week.

Thank you all for continuing to make this sub a great little corner of the internet for enjoying vintage fashion.

Vintage 1950s Jantzen Strawberry Swimsuit

One of my top holy grail pieces! I'd had this on my ISO for years, and was lucky enough to stumble upon it in an antique mall that I got for what felt like theft. Arguably one of Jantzen's most well-documented and famous designs in their 110+ year history, and that's coming from a brand that popularized the term "swimsuit" in the first place! They had two main designs, cherries and strawberries. I don't think I'd buy the cherry if I came across it as I'm feeling blessed enough to own the strawberry one that I got for a song, but I might be tempted if I come across another steal 🤭. Wearing with a 60s straw sunhat by Beaver Hat Co 🍓☺️ This swimsuit was also worn by Scarlett Johansson for an ad back in the day.
