What's a thing you regret buying for living on your own?

Before i moved, i had no idea what to buy so i kinda just bought everything. I can imagine there is people just like me so i wonder what specific things do you guys regret buying? For me it's multiple: my coffee machine (takes up too much space + i can drink instant coffee), too many cups and plates and a toaster. How about you guys?!?!

Wat staat er op je TBR lijst?

Ben benieuwd!

Nintendo switch 1 of switch 2 halen?

Groot verschil in prijs dus.

What was your first experience with a group project like?

You get put into a group with a few people you barely know, create a group chat, divide up the work and assume everything will be straightforward. Then you realise everyone has a different way of working and completely different ideas about what "doing it on time" means.

How did your first group project actually go? Did everyone pull their weight, or did you end up learning the hard way that some group members are much easier to work with than others?

Have you ever had to cancel plans because you couldn't afford them?

Sometimes your friends want to go out for dinner, take a trip, go to an event, or do something that simply isn't in your budget that week. Saying no can feel a bit awkward, especially when everyone else is excited and you don't want to be the person holding the plans back.

Have you ever been in that situation? Did you tell your friends honestly that money was the reason, make another excuse, or suggest something cheaper instead?

What's something Dutch speakers say that surprised you at first?

When learning a new language, you sometimes expect people to express things in the same way as in your native language, only with different words.

Then you hear a phrase or expression that makes you think, "That's an interesting way to say it."

Has a Dutch expression, response, or everyday phrase ever caught you off guard? What was it, and what did you expect someone to say instead?

Do you cook most of your meals or eat out more often?

When you're balancing lectures, assignments, part-time work, and everything else that comes with student life, finding the time and energy to cook isn't always easy. At the same time, eating out or ordering food regularly can get expensive pretty quickly.

I'm curious what most students end up doing. Do you usually cook your own meals, meal prep for the week, share cooking with housemates, or rely more on takeaways and restaurants?

Has your routine changed since you first started studying, and if so, what made the biggest difference?
