Irritation/redness and flaking on my partners scalp (help!)

Hi! I'm looking for other people's insight on this, we're day 1 into a 2 week holiday in a remote village so unable to go to a chemist/pharmacy and he just discovered this on the back of his head, ive been googling and i think it might be seborrheic dermatitis but I'm not too sure and I'm scared to do any remedies incase I make it worse or hurt him! any advice would be greatly appreciated
