Is it just me or do Reverend shapes absolutely crush with more classic styling options?

Love and totally get the modern vibe they aim for, but I’ve been itching for a Mercalli for a while and haven’t pulled the trigger yet literally only because I’m not a fan of the bright or metallic colors it currently comes in haha. They look great but it’s just not my personal style.

Had ChatGPT throw a tortoise pickguard on the powder yellow though (replacing the metallic gold), and - damn. Might get this and actually make it happen. But I really wish they put out more stock options like this for every model. Their shapes are awesome and there’d be something for everyone.

Not sure if anyone else feels the same. If not, I guess this is the hill I die on and I’ll take my downvotes now.

Need help narrowing down Brooklyn/Downtown Manhattan neighborhoods

Hey, my wife and I are looking to relocate closer to my office in DUMBO soon. We have a little time but need to move by September so we’re doing our best to narrow down neighborhoods to check out ASAP. Not sure what prices will look like by Aug/Sept which throws another wrench into planning.

Our budget is $6k/mo (trying to keep under $5.5k if possible though), need 1.5-2 bathrooms and ideally 2 bedrooms. We both work from home mostly except for a couple days I need to go to the office. Mid 30s but young souls, hoping to have kids in a couple years, both big foodies and I’m also a skateboarder and surfer so decent spots to skate is ideal (distance from beach less important - we’re far already lol). She makes jewelry and would love to sell locally and find a community for it so the better the local craft/art scene the better it’d be for us. Not big drinkers but we love a good brewery or craft beer spot. Needs to be within 30 mins from Borough Hall.

We’ve been in Astoria forever. Bed-Stuy sounded perfect on paper but we checked it out and while we didn’t hate it, it just felt like something was missing vs. Astoria and we’d regret leaving for it. My fave neighborhood in the city we can afford is probably Greenpoint but it’s way too far from my office, so I’m consulting the Reddit fam to get some clarity on where to focus our search so we don’t waste too much time.

Thanks for any tips here! And if you have any clarifying q’s please ask away!

Any surfers have a chance to compare Synergy to Waterborne (surf + rail combo)?

Thinking through a rain build (waterproof deck/grip/rain wheels already picked out) and now the final decision is the trucks.

I already use and love the front + rear waterborne combo on my other boards. For this build I want it to be the most reliable surf trainer I can cobble together - on rainy days I’m going to be carving and snapping around and drilling maneuvers rather than hitting the skatepark. But no spring systems because water.

Synergy has piqued my interest but I’ve been reading conflicting things on how surf-like it actually is. It’s been even tougher getting a solid read on how it compares to the waterborne setup I’m used to, as a pure surf trainer.

Anyone here get a chance to ride both, who also surfs?

Rib pain from backside snaps?

I skate regular and my left ribcage is feeling pretty tender lately after I’ve been practicing backside snaps more often. I think it’s from the failed attempts where I wasn’t able to break traction and all the force just kinda stayed in my body.

Anyone else ever deal with this? Hurts pretty bad lol not sure what kinda recovery time I’m likely in for or how to keep it from happening again

Learning to drop in with waterborne rail adapter

Never dropped in on anything before, but getting to the point where I can prob start trying it soon on some smaller stuff

One thing freaking me out though is that my board has 65mm wheels on a waterborne rear rail adapter (which has a lil bump shape in the back where the flat edge of the truck baseplate would usually be to lock into the coping), plus a deck with a very steep tail angle

What am I getting myself into here and how can I as a drop-in newbie ensure success without a trip to the hospital or a multi-week recovery on this setup

Thank u

Also break out super easy. What are my fellow paperskin-cursed kooks wearing out there that actually works without causing issues?

These two are recommended often in general, but trying to decide on final winner
