Is it just me or do Reverend shapes absolutely crush with more classic styling options?

Is it just me or do Reverend shapes absolutely crush with more classic styling options?

Love and totally get the modern vibe they aim for, but I’ve been itching for a Mercalli for a while and haven’t pulled the trigger yet literally only because I’m not a fan of the bright or metallic colors it currently comes in haha. They look great but it’s just not my personal style.

Had ChatGPT throw a tortoise pickguard on the powder yellow though (replacing the metallic gold), and - damn. Might get this and actually make it happen. But I really wish they put out more stock options like this for every model. Their shapes are awesome and there’d be something for everyone.

Not sure if anyone else feels the same. If not, I guess this is the hill I die on and I’ll take my downvotes now.

NGD - First Reverend

I've been getting re-obsessed with the Smashing Pumpkins recently and picked up my first Reverend on eBay. Not sure of the year but it is technically new, never been played.

Has the black pickup surrounds but I think the neck is the roasted maple. Paid £780 with postage.

Plays and sounds amazing, might be the nicest guitar I have. I think I want a Drop Z next, but the Kingbolt F Sonic is calling to me as well.

Ist this quality normal for Reverend?

Hello!

I just got my Dub King from Thomann. As every review was really excited about the quality, I am not.

At least i think the quality of the laquer and binding is ... Not good.

It plays well and sounds good but I was expecting a nearly perfect instrument.

Just want to know if thats normal for a Reverend guitar and if I was expecting too much.

Greetings!

Edit: I guess you guys think this quality is good enough for a 1300€ instrument. I certainly don't and sent the bass back to thomann. I like reverends design and innovations but the finish quality (in my case atleast) is on par with a 250€ Harley Benton.

NGD - Rev Buckshot

What a great pickup combo! Wish Reverend still made a Charger with this miniHB/single coil pairing. Or even better, a steelhead 90 and a single-coil bridge! I replaced the stock knobs with V-line pointer knobs. Gives it more of a vintage vibe.

First and not last

Been eyeing a couple Reverend guitars for only 3 years now lol. Decided to pull the trigger finally, and got this demo model for a deal. The black or sandstone finish would have been my first pick but this one is definitely growing on me. Genuinely impressed, I’ve only played a couple Reverends and they played great, but this came set up beautifully, I’m loving it. My mom (aka the best guitar player I know) was also impressed. I think I’ve piqued her curiosity about the brand.

Should I be concerned about this in the neck/fret?

Hi! I'm a new Kingbolt Air owner and I'm so far really enjoying it. The neck is nice and the P90s are a unique tone. However, upon playing I did notice this slight "hole" or possibly unfinished work in the neck. It might be nothing but before I ask my rep I was wondering from you guys if I should be concerned. I can physically feel it when I run my thumb across the neck. If it's something incredibly minor then it's no biggie, I rather keep it but if it might cause issues in the future, I rather know to avoid any future hassle. Pictures attached. Thanks and sorry in advance if it's a nothing burger!

Honest review of my new Reverend

Hands

Down

Best

Guitar

Ive

Ever

Owned.

Simple as that. It feels lovely in my hands, plays like butter, is a harmony monster, has a beautiful tone, low action, no uneven frets, nicely rolled, a bad ass bass knob, locking tuners, and the finish is immaculate.

It's really tough to hate this guitar. After years of playing fenders, this guitar taught me that I was compensating a lot during my jams. It feels really effortless to play this thing. after a week of playing my reverend, I decided to go back to my fender, just to see how it would feel, and it feels like a downgrade.

Fender really is banking on that nostalgia factor. The modern design and quality control of reverend beats fender. Its bittersweet for me to say all of this because I played fender for years, but I cant deny reality. Fender has been slipping on quality control and given the recent lawsuit debacle, it was the perfect moment for a reality check.

First Reverend

Just picked this up last week. Interesting discrepancies. Got a new WIZ-1, ended up being a prototype which is cool. Production run comes with double-black bobbin ceramic humbucker (along with a cream ring), this came with a Railhammer Chisel (also ceramic) from the factory with a black ring. I guess my shop got two prerelease prototypes at NAMM. I've got the Lollar reproduction of James Williamson's Raw Power T-Top coming in the mail soon, the higher output ceramic isn't my favorite sound, need more 70s garage than modern punk/metal. The silhouette is beautiful, reminds me of a more modern Ventures MK2 Mosrite and a Rickbacker.

Roundhouse RA Advice

Hi, all. My local guitar shop is clearing out their Reverend stock and they have a new blue Roundhouse RA for what I think is a really great price.

Can I get some input of the pros and cons of this guitar? I am primarily a metal player, but I’d like to have this one to play a different style once in a while.

Finally, what’s considered a “good deal” for the instrument. I’m having trouble departing with my dollars, but maybe y’all can persuade me to join the club. Thanks for any advice you can provide.
