GI Doctor Recommendations
I am in need of a new GI doctor in Greenville. Someone who actually listens to patients and is willing to do testing (seems rare these days). Does anyone have any recommendations? Comment or DM me.

Has anyone had classic SIBO symptoms but tested negative for it? I was so convinced I had SIBO but the test came back negative. My symptoms include constipation, bloating, gas, indigestion, and occasional acid reflux. My doctor just told me to take MiraLAX daily. And while it’s helped a little with the constipation, I’m still experiencing those other symptoms it doesn’t help with and isn’t super consistent with helping the constipation. Kind of at a loss for what to do because my doctor doesn’t seem to want to investigate further. I also have celiac disease already and was diagnosed 5 years ago and on a strict gluten free diet so that’s not it. If anyone has similar issue and has fixed it I would love to hear your experiences.
I’ve already tried all the quick fixes with little to no luck. From more fiber, water, and exercise to kiwis and magnesium supplements but nothing seems to work. And also to note I’ve been struggling with this for like 4 years now so it’s a chronic problem. It’s honestly been affecting my day to day life and starting to really bother me.
This is kind of just me venting but if anyone has advice I would appreciate it.
Hello! I am moving to Greenville, SC next month for a new job originally from the NorthEast. I am a recent grad so in my early 20s and I am moving there by myself. Looking for any advice on anything and everything! Where should I look for apartments (locations, recommendations, etc), best places to meet people, anything you wish you knew before moving there if you did a move. This is a huge change for me so just looking for some insights into the city and what to expect. Thanks!
Hi everyone, I am looking for clinical specialist roles specifically entry level for a new grad. I have been looking at a lot of different companies and divisions but I wanted to see if anyone has ideas for maybe less known companies that often hire entry level. I am open to any sort of division, and open to relocating ideally East coast.
Also if anyone has any job suggestions that I can get in the meantime that may help my application for these types of roles, I have a bachelors in BME. I do have shadowing experience in the OR and EP/Cath labs too.
Any tips or advice on breaking into this career would also be greatly appreciated! Or if anyone has any connections, I would love to network too!
I've been doing a lot of research into this thread because I am interested in starting my career in neuromonitoring. One thing I keep seeing is that so many people in this career do not seem to like their job at all...first off why are you still working in it then? Second people complain about being on call, traveling a lot, and the unpredictability of their schedules. I would think that this is something you would be expecting going into the career is it not? One reason I am attracted to this job is for the above reasons...I wanted a job thats different everyday and I enjoy travel/driving so thats not a problem for me either. Being on call sure it sucks but I am fully expecting that...thats part of working in the OR and its not like its everyday 24/7. I guess I am just surprised by everyone's attitude toward this career unless I am just being naive. Also seeing people trying to get out of their training contracts. Sure the salary sucks at first, but them paying you something is better then you paying to go to a school. And after the 2-3 years you can switch if you want for better pay or whatever if thats what you're after. I feel like a 2-3 year commitment is totally fair with them training you. All of the negativity I see is really making me question if I should go for it.
I would love to hear reasons why people love their job or any thoughts to what I just said.
Edit: I really appreciate everyone's honesty, and I acknowledge I might be naive with this post, but I appreciate everyones thoughts.
Hello everyone, I recently graduated with a BS in biomedical engineering and am looking into getting into this field. From what I have gathered so far, work life balance seems to be a huge complaint amongst people in this field. And this is definitely something that I value, however I am open to being on call as long as it isn't excessive and when I am not on call, I am truly not on call. So it seems like this really depends on the company as well as location/team. If anyone has any insights into what companies are good in keeping a good work-life balance (and companies not), I would appreciate it. Also any advice on questions to ask in an interview to get a better feel for this aspect for their specific team. And lastly if anyone has any openings for entry level, I would need to be trained but I have clinical/OR experience and I am a fast learner. Open to any locations in the SouthEast US, also currently living in central PA.
