Ant Infestation

Long story as short as possible - my husband and I recently moved to a townhome ~3 months ago, and had a manageable ant problem here and there. It has gotten worse and worse, and management had done next to nothing. As in, I did my own research, purchased about 200 dollars worth of my own bait (terro then advion). Let’s just say I know way too much about ant species and behaviors which should not be a thing when you’re living in what’s advertised as a luxury townhome. They finally sent their “pest control” person if you can even call it that after we opened 9 tickets. When he came he was so frazzled because so many people’s townhomes are infested. He sprayed the worst corner (even though I knew that was probably not a good move due to the baits, but I trusted they knew better), and the next day the ants split into what seems like dozens of colonies and are now in every room, all over.

My husband and I had to briefly move into my parent’s house 30 minutes away, and had to threaten legal action to get them to bring in an outside vendor (who confirmed my suspicion of the split colonies). I also have a newly walking toddler, and they were literally crawling on her. They had the company inspect on Friday, made us wait the whole weekend, said they would come again yesterday, but now they can’t come till tomorrow. If they don’t it’s not going to be good for the leasing office. 🤣 But their game plan is treatment twice a week (the legit pest service) until the problem is gone. They have hundreds of 5 star reviews so I’m hopeful, and they seemed very confident during the inspection unlike the onsite “pest control.”

Can anyone give me a realistic expectation on how long it may take to see vast improvement? I’m terrified of bugs and this has been a total nightmare. One of the grosser pics attached (which was only about 2 hours after it was placed - not helpful that they’re all dead in there which is why I switched to Advion with also no luck), but the videos and other pics are also disturbing, lol. We haven’t been able to use our half bath in almost 2 weeks because they’re crawling all over and into the toilet. 🫠

Rug Placement

A bit messy because toddler 😅 but we just moved from a house to a townhome and I purchased this rug. Does it need to be moved under the couch legs? It’s right in front of the legs.
