So I currently have a Gigabyte Windforce rtx 5080 that I got for $899 open box a few months ago (with 2 year protection add on) and Microcenter currently has a PowerColor Reaper 9070XT for $602 open box. I was wondering if it would be worth to sell the 5080 for $1,000 and buy the 9070XT since I only play at 1440p.

My CPU is Ryzen 7 9800X3D and I’m running 64GB Corsair vengeance rgb 6000 CL 30-36-36-76

I could also trade in my 5080 back to Microcenter which right now will give me $960 back as store credit based on their GPU trade in website value.

So a few days ago I managed to get lucky and picked up an open box PowerColor Reaper 9070XT for $602.96 before tax at Microcenter. Fast forward today, there is an open box XFX 9070 GRE for $407.96. Which graphics card should I choose if I want to play mostly racing simulator games at 1440p? Should I get the 9070 GRE and save $200 bucks even though it only has 12GB of vram compared to 16GB from the 9070XT?
