Pain when sitting, pain what laying down, ideas?

Hi all.

I have fibro and hypermobility also. I've been diagnosed for about two years now.

Recently I'm finding that driving, sitting on the couch, sitting on the floor, just sitting in general really hurts my hip joints and lower back. It's this constant dull ache that feels a bit stabby at times. Usually if I'm watching tv, I'll lay on the floor on my stomach when my hip pain starts up, but then my ribs will hurt because of the pressure on them. I can't get comfortable laying on my side because my shoulder partially dislocates when I lean on it and if I lay on my side, rib pain again.

Does anyone have any experience with this and how to find a position that doesn't hurt? I'm just so tired of always been so incredibly uncomfortable 😣

Workers chat gone from friendly to awkward real fast

For context, I don't work at woolies. Just a customer. I'm also autistic and socially not the most savvy.

So my local woolies has been my go to woolies for a decade now. I know all the staff, and they know me. So yesterday I was grabbing garlic and ginger for a chicken curry I was making, and I hear someone ask "how are you today". And I looked around, wondering who had said that, and had they said it to me. So I look across the produce display and there's a guy I haven't seen before, in woolies uniform. I looked at him and I awkwardly said,"...me?" And he laughed and said yes you. I laughed and said sorry, there have been times in the past someone has asked me that and it's been directed at someone else and I have answered anyway. He laughed and said, "that must have been so embarrassing." And I said yes, it was. I wasn't sure how to end the conversation, so I said, "well, thanks for stopping to chat with me, have a nice day." And he said, "no problem, you have a nice day too," then he paused and said, "sorry I was saying that to the person behind you." And I laughed and said, "now you're being cheeky." And we waved goodbye and left it at that. It felt like a nice conversation and it was actually nice to have a laugh with someone new. I did my shopping and got to the checkout and the guy comes running over with a bouquet of flowers from the flower section and he says, "this is for you from me." And I was like, "ohhhhh.... Thanks?" And it was really awkward and I realized he had been flirting. I walked back to my car and I swear I could not have gotten out of there fast enough, I was so uncomfortable. Like I appreciate the gesture but I feel like I've maybe misled this guy? So what do I do now? Because I'm like, I could either avoid going to the shop and shop at my alternate woolies for a while until he forgets me, or I can tell him next time I see him that I appreciate the flowers but I'm unavailable and not interested.

I'm also not sure if this kind of thing is even allowed for workers to do for customers? Any advice is nice.

Heart rate climbs into 140+ then suddenly drops below 60

Hi all.

I've seen the doctor about this and done an ecg, had a 24 hour holter monitor and all that done and other than a sinus arrythmia (which wasn't explained to me at all so I don't know if that's a concern or not), it all looked normal.

So basically what happens, is I will be doing something standing, and my heart rate will climb above 140bpm. I'll feel short of breath and my heart suddenly clunks (that's what I call it, it's kind of like one strong beat that suddenly changes the rhythm) and it will go from 140+ down to below 60 within about thirty seconds. In that thirty seconds, I will get dizzy and lightheaded, feel clammy and it will feel like I can't breathe. I have to immediately sit down otherwise it feels like I will feint. I have had this happens multiple times at the gym during exercise that isn't strenuous, and this happens most of the time when I shower.

I have hashimotos and hypothyroidism and the doctor has basically said my heart issues are caused by that. I'm usually well hydrated, don't drink a lot of coffee and my iron levels are within a normal range. My normal resting heart rate is around 50bpm and blood pressure is always high to level 1 hypertension (even when resting).

If anyone has any insight on what this may be, that would be awesome, because yeah, I've done multiple ecg's and unfortunately these episodes don't happen while I'm wearing it because I'm told not to shower with it on, or go to the gym with it on, and that's when these things happen. I'm not looking for a diagnosis by any means, just curious what others may think.

Somewhat new to IBS... Food question

Hi all. Diagnosed with IBS about six months ago and I also have a bunch of other diseases that have food triggers, so food is tricky for me. I've done the low FODMAP diet to work out triggers for my IBS and there was quite a bit, but it is what it is. I do have a question however.

So I have celiac disease and I can't even have trace amounts of gluten, like my food has to be completely gluten free. Is IBS the same, like do I have to avoid even trace amounts of trigger foods, or can I literally just pick them out of meals I make?

I saw a stew recipe that i would love to make but onions are a huge trigger for me and it asks for me to put in pearl onions. I'm not sure whether to proceed with the recipe or if I can just simply not eat the onions and pick them out when I serve mine.

AIO about a man I encountered on my daily walk?

Hi all.

Every day I go for a walk, where I'll walk anywhere between 5km to 7km depending on how I'm feeling and how the weather is. It's usually just through the streets and some main roads, nothing too crazy.

Anyhow. Today I was listening to music on my headphones while walking, and something felt off. I paused my music but kept up my pace and it sounded like my footsteps were echoing. I stopped walking and turned around and there was a man, slightly shorter than me, almost breathing down my neck. I let out an audible "oh!" And he stepped back. Now I'm quite tall and not crazy athletic or anything (but have a good bit of muscle on me) and have major major resting bitch face, so most creepy guys generally don't try anything on me and leave me alone. So this guy already had me on guard for getting right up behind me. I pulled out my phone and pretended that I was calling my friend (I wasn't but he didn't know that) and he slowly walked past me, looking at me out of the corner of his vision. I watched him walk down the street and he kept stopping, turning around and watching me. He did this at least 5 times, and I still continued to pretend to talk to my friend on the phone, just in case.

The way he walked was the only way I could get home, so I matched his pace but kept a good distance. He would continue to stop and turn to look at me. At one point we got to a fork in the road, where I could go either a very secluded path that would get me home quickly, or an open and exposed but significantly longer path home. I couldn't see him at this point because he had sped up and vanished right before the fork. I was already tired but chose the longer path just in case he had chosen the secluded path. Well, he had chosen the secluded path, and he had noticed that I had chosen the open one, and he literally cut through the bushes and trees to get to the part of the path I was on. At that point I went from thinking he was maaaaybe being creepy to "I'm possibly in danger".

So I looked around for the best way out of there and if I kept going in the direction I was going, he would catch up, but I would also be out in the open where there was a chance of people seeing me. So I sped up and the path opened up onto a football oval where another guy was running laps of the oval. He noticed me, and noticed the guy making a bee line for me and he stopped running and stood there staring at us. I then messaged my husband and said to come get me immediately (he could get to me within a minute or two from the oval). I went towards the running man, hoping he wouldn't be a creep either (he was fine), and noticed that the strange man had vanished again. I assumed he had gone around to the other side of the football club building (which was next to the oval), so I kept walking in the opposite direction until my husband came screeching around the corner in his car.

He asked me what had happened and I told him and he seemed completely unphased by it and I was left wondering, did I overreact to this guy? Because writing it all out just now, I'm like wow, that was actually bad and I'm glad my husband rocked up when did. But also... Did I perhaps freak myself out a bit too much here? Like have I read into it too much and overreacted?
