Picked up this vintage Breitling watch at an estate sale for $30. one of my best watch finds.
Browsing estate sales just before bed Wednesday night and saw there was like 7mins away from me on thursday and it started at 8am. sweet, I can run over there while wife is getting ready for work and I can leave the toddler at home. I saw some electronics I wanted to check out and a sterling silver Tiffany pen. I get there 10 mins before it opens and there’s only 2 people in line. I stop by the jewelry table and the Tiffany pen was all scratched and it was $60. i notice a watch face down but see .925 on the tag and I was like wtf? So I pick it up and check the strap buckle. Don’t see any marks so I turn it over and it’s this Breitling, then I checked the tag again and flip it over and it says $30. saw a small red bag that said watches of Switzerland or whatever so I check that and it had a blue leather strap with a Breitling deployment clasp and I told the guy It goes with the watch and he said oh ok no extra charge, so I got that out the watch in the bag then I saw a gold looking #1MOM charm for $5 and grabbed that. all in all I spent like $38 or whatever. the charm wasn’t marked but when I had my jeweler friend change the watch batter he checked the charm and it was 14k.
anyways crazy lucky score and my best watch find from an estate sale.
