What can use this pile of dead grass, weeds, and dirt for?
I spent the weekend clearing my backyard of dead grass, foxtail weeds and other miscellaneous weeds. I now have a pile of it along with the top inch of dirt from the yard. Can I put some worms in it, cover it with a tarp and have it be useful dirt after some time? Is it total garbage because it's infested with seed pods from the foxtail? I'm a total noob with this stuff and am just looking for something simple for re-using this if such a thing exists.

axios.comI am currently trying to build a high-pop town (around 350 families), and I would like to know how much barley I need to importing from nearby regions. I know that I need 4 Ale, per family, per year. I also know that 1 Barley creates 1 Malt, and 1 Malt creates 2 Ale. Accordingly, for a town of 350 families, I need 1,400 Ale, which requires 700 Barley minimum, per year after spoilage.
Ale spoils at the highest rate, so I cap production of Ale around 120, just to keep spoilage down and logistics feasible.
Malt and Barley spoil at a lesser rate, but considering I have to keep higher quantities around due to the Ale production cap, I would like to know how much extra Barley I need per year in order to meet Ale demand after spoilage. If I import 1,000 barley from the next town over, and I lose 5% every month between harvests (11 months), then I'm lookin at about 570 Barley. Likewise with Malt, assuming it spoils at the same rate post-conversion. On the other hand, if the rate is 2%, that 1,000 Barley ends up at around 817 Barley after 11 months, and I'm good to go.
Obviously, it's more complicated than that because my town is consuming Ale the whole time. I'm not about to do derivatives and shit, but you get my issue! What are the rates? What does High spoilage mean? What about Low, and Very Low?? I'd love to know.
