Has anyone ever seen perpendicular pocket doors? We have an 1869 QA with 3 full sets of side-by-side pocket doors and one of those sets has 1 door that closes perpendicularly to it. The 3 doors form one corner in the living room and the dining room. Yes, they are functional, but we leave them mostly open.

I love touring and looking at pictures of old homes, but I have never found any doors like this.

(Pretty useless rambling but has some context, summary below)

I had a decent laptop but the SSD died on me and I can't afford to buy a new one currently. I had an old macbook air (2015) and decided to see if it still worked, and it did (mostly). I had to get a new battery for it (cost me $40 so not bad), but I installed it and now everything is good.

I have been pretty sick and tired of Windows (ads, bloatware, fees, force-feeding AI crap), and I'm also not too fond of MacOS so I thought it was a good opportunity to try to switch to Linux.

Specs: listed in the pictures attached ⬆️

Main uses: daily use (basic office work), gaming (if possible :,)) and watching media.

Anyway, I'm just looking for something (somewhat) beginner friendly, a bit customizable and lightweight enough to run on this laptop. I'm not exactly tech savy but I'm also not unwilling to learn.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thank you <3

I'm leaning towards Linux Mint, is there any issues that I might face? Or should I try something different?
