Separation Anxiety in a Senior Dog

Hi everyone, Im an owner to a 11 year old dachshund chihuahua terrier mix. He has been with me since I was 13, am now 23 and moved out for graduate school. I first moved without Renn and he didnt experience separation anxiety back at my parents house. After about 6 months my parents asked me to move him in with me so I did but every time I leave the apartment even for 5 minutes my dog experiences a lot of stress :( he has been living with me for about 2 months now

Talked to the vet and they said its likely best for him to move back to my parents house where he spent all 11 years of his life and they have another dog that he plays with.

Im wondering if anyone has any last-attempt advice to ease his stress when I leave the apartment? Ive tried lick pads with calming treats/pb we go on lots of walks during the day and Ive tried crate training but he pushed his face into the crate where he got a big bump in his nose from it.

He howls and barks a bit while im gone and mostly lays in front of the door but doesnt destroy anything. Though i did come back to a little throw up once :(

The plan is to move him out and this is likely his last week with me, I just wish I could explain it to him. I know he will be sad and confused for a couple weeks but Ill try to visit him at least monthly at my parents. I know hes happier there with a yard and his dog “brother” (not really related)

Snout bump- why?

I know that i just made a separate post for his paws but i just noticed this after being out for the day that my senior dogs snout has a bump? He did not have contact with bees but he was in a crate for 5 hrs so im wondering if he could have pushed his face against the crate for an extended time?? We did start him on a new brand of kibble one week ago but he has had no other symptoms. Any advice is greatly appreciated

Dog nails worn - too much walking?

Hi all, i started taking my dog on hour long walks on a college campus but I now realize that I should not be because much of the ground is concrete and it looks like his quick is exposed maybe? Its only on the front paws not the back. Can anyone tell me if this is normal from the pics or do i stop taking him on long walks?? What do i do

diabolical thrift finds

i hate bots but the other post got taken down so i want to share pics of two shoes i saw over the years. I kind of regret not getting the converse point toe stilettos theyre fire, the uggs on the other hand..

Honorable mention: autismawareness uggs they were literally just brown uggs with some embroidery and i thought wow that is so random for company advertising like… what???
