Vlog: "DAY IN THE LIFE ON TOUR! Snakes, Farts, & Waterfalls!" (recap)
I thought I would recap this vlog, since I watched it out of curiosity. But alas, not a single clip of her actual shows.
First, Colleen vlogs on the plane. She's not prepared for her show, it's been "a very overwhelming couple of weeks". (What?? She had months to prepare!) She's nervous and excited. "We're here, she's queer." (points at Rachel)
A segment she filmed at home. F shows off his snake crawling on various spots, scoring how much the snake likes them. One spot is a potty full of toilet paper. Colleen asks if the potty is clean or dirty. It's clean. (I bet Colleen picked the potty specifically.) This could be cute, but you can tell how much of it is orchestrated by Colleen. F keeps looking at her for validation. She also added music and edits that made it feel less spontaneous and cute. I think she's trying to launch F as a content creator.
Back on tour, Colleen shows off their B&B, complete with a karaoke wall and Dolly Parton related illustrations. (I wonder what Dolly would think of Colleen.) Colleen says she's working on the props the DAY BEFORE the concert, when again she had months to prepare. I get that they're moving and things have been hectic, but it's just so last minute. I would be embarrassed to admit this lack of preparation. She doesn't actually show any props, or show herself working on them.
Then for the worst clip, which is almost two minutes of detailed talk about farts. Colleen and Rachel discuss how their farts are different, act out what the farts seem to be saying, etc. I can imagine my 5- and 3-year-old nephews having this exact conversation, but two grown women in their 30s? It's a bit odd tbh. Not surprising, but odd.
A one-minute montage from soundcheck, with music playing over it, so you can't even hear clips of her actual songs. The fart section was longer and more detailed. There's not a single moment from the show itself, which is frankly weird. I wonder what she's hiding. Maybe it's the half empty venue or the fact that she got heckled. Or maybe it's because she sang "Toxic Gossip Train". She doesn't want to give haters ammo, I guess, after we tore her sex song to shreds. But if I were one of her fans and couldn't make it to the show, I would be really bummed that she shows us absolutely nothing. You would think her fans are more interested in her show than her farts.
They went to a guided tour inside a cave, which actually looks very cool with colorful lights and a waterfall. I must admit I liked this bit. But I do think she could have done a voiceover, instead of talking into the microphone during the guided tour. If she went out more and did this kind of stuff, it would improve her vlogs.
Finally, a clip of her lying in bed with Daisy the cat, who has pretty crusty-looking eyes. Colleen thanks all the lovely and kind people who came to see the show, and also the lovely and kind people watching, who couldn't come to the show. She promises to do more vlogs, and asks people to send questions she can answer. (Is there anything left to ask?) A screenshot of her AS MIRANDA doing a show. She really has learned absolutely nothing.
