Family Member Selling G16

I have never owned an Asus and to be transparent I will probably be getting a Framework Pro 13 when they start shipping. However, my brother in law just offered to sell me his 4070 model of the G16 for $1100, which sounds like a great deal to me. My question is how has this model been for someone that uses that generation? I’m curious to know battery life, screen quality, and anything else I should know. Do you like it?

Need ThinkPad Nerd Help

Hey everyone! I am a disgusting Mac user but need your help. I want to get out of using Mac and start playing with Linux, I have one of those hand held ASUS gaming devices and someone just offered to straight trade me a ThinkPad E16 Gen 1. I have no clue if this is considered a good model or not? Would like some of this communities help.

Thanks in advance!

Intro to Linux

I’m a long time Windows & Mac user (I know, disgusting) unfortunately I require Windows for work but I’m getting sucked into the Linux rabbit hole and want to get a second or third hand laptop to install it on and experiment. What cheaper laptop should I be on the lookout for to turn into a Linux machine? What Linux distribution should I use as a newbie? I don’t know if I’m looking to have to type in a 20 line command to open up Firefox so what is the simple entry distro?

I have a Framework 13 Pro on pre order that I’d like to dual boot Windows and Linux on.

Thanks in advance.

Worth Becoming Property Adjuster?

Alright, this has been on my mind for a while but this is the first time I've decided to publicly ask for guidance.

I'm a 23 year old male, getting married soon and buying a house. I currently project manage for a roofing & exteriors company in Georgia and have been for 3 years now. I have helped homeowners navigate many roof claims (while staying in my lane as a contractor of course) and I've seen a lot of good and a lot of bad. While contracting is good work and good money, I've gotten tired of the retail sales side and going against insurance has gotten tougher and tougher. I'm looking to make a switch to the "dark side."

Even though I cant legally talk about them, I love getting into homeowner's policies. The more I learn about the claims side the more I want to do it. I have met a lot of adjusters and most of them have made it seem like a dream job, more money than roofing and no sales! I met an older IA at the casino that swore by commercial adjusting. I want to know... is it true? Is adjusting really a $100k annual job out the gate? If I'm wanting to get into adjusting, IA work specifically for property, where should I start? Should I even go IA or do I look into PA, desk, CAT or any other type of work?

If anyone is in the metro Atlanta area I would be curious to know how many residential claims per day you average, how you like to get paid whether it's per claim, per day or fee schedule. Where did you go to get your license? AdjusterPro or something else?

For the adjusters that handle roofing claims, do you still climb roofs?

Thank you in advance and I apologize if this post is all over the place.

Migrating from MacBook to Framework

I have been hunting for a windows laptop to switch to for work for a few weeks now but have not been impressed with anything on the market until I came across Framework. I've spent all day reading up and watching videos on the Pro 13 coming out. My question is... is there any way I can get a Pro 13 earlier than October? I have an option to purchase an ROG Zephyrus g16 for $1200 but that would only be to hold me over until Pro ship date.

In your personal opinion, do you think the price to performance is there with the Pro 13? Should I opt for the new Intel Panther Lake or go AMD AI? Which chip delivers the efficient power life advertised? How is casual gaming on the Pro?

Thank you in advance, this is a new realm for me.
