Semester 1 results are (sort of) out - GPA for the semester is visible

Every semester, you can see your GPA a few days before the results are officially released.

To find this, go to https://swin.t1cloud.com/T1Default/CiAnywhere/Web/SWIN/Workplace My Swinburne > My Overview > Coursework Summary. Or on mobile, go to the Swinburne App, then My Admin > My Overview > Coursework Summary

As shown in the image, my GPA for this semester was 2.75, and my overall GPA is a 3. For calculating GPA, a pass=1, credit=2, distinction=3 and HD=4. A GPA of 2.75 likely means I got 3 distinctions and 1 credit, which was about what I was expecting

Considering excess saturated fat is linked to increased LDL cholesterol, why does the carnivore diet advocate for eating so much of it? Why not use extra virgin olive oil etc. instead?

It is well established that excess saturated fat can raise LDL cholesterol in some people, which is clearly a bad thing. Yes, there's a modest difference between stearic acid and lauric acid, but both still impact LDL.

Despite this, the carnivore diet often suggests using butter/tallow etc. on top of all the saturated fat already in the meat. Why not use something like extra virgin olive oil instead, which is widely regarded as one of the healthiest sources of fat, with many studies backing this up?

From a general nutrition perspective, diversifying your diet generally helps you get a wider range of nutrients, so I don't understand why you'd want to add more saturated fat when you're already getting plenty from animal fats?

Does the liquid assets waiting period apply if you go from austudy to jobseeker?

I have more than 12k in liquid assets and did the 13 week liquid assets waiting period when I got on austudy 2 years ago. I'm just finishing austudy and transferring to jobseeker now I've finished studying.

Will I need to wait 13 weeks for the liquid assets waiting period again? I was under the impression I would be exempt from it, but the lady on the phone asked me if I have more than $11,500 in liquid assets, so I'm a bit concerned now..

It says on servicesaustralia that I "may be exempt" if:

  • you transfer from one payment to another within a 14 day period
  • you qualified for JobSeeker Payment after getting another payment

I believe both these apply but I'm not too sure. Anyone know if the waiting period would or should apply? Thanks!

[Deep Thinker] [Ultimate Perspective] - I don't understand why I have no success with women

Community discussion - Where do people get their BP views from? Is it a defence mechanism to refuse self-improvement?

I've been using BP subs for months and I've noticed that all these people say and believe virtually the same thing - they use the same terminology and repeat the same things verbatim. Here are some examples:

-If a woman dates anyone who isn't 6ft Ch-ad, she must be settling with him and unhappy

-Therapy isn't useful

-A refusal to improve themselves in any capacity because they've decided they are a victim of their genetics

-The only thing they seemingly want from women is sex

I've noticed it is scarily similar to r/thanksimcured - A sub filled with people who complain about their mental illnesses and refuse to even attempt bettering themselves. They see it as insulting to even suggest that something might help!

It's the exact same vibe I see around here. "I'm not in control and I can't do anything! It's pointless! You don't understand!"

Any therapist would teach these people that focusing on what is within your control is beneficial, but people around here straight up say therapy is harmful. Why? Because they've read memes and their echo chamber has told them that's the truth.

There doesn't seem to be any logical basis for most of the stuff I see around here. That's why posts are literal fuel for other subreddits to make fun of.

Why are people around here so uneager to improve?

No email/message of whether I passed the assessment - I was just taken to this page where there's no work available. I did the 'Evaluating Responses from AI Assistants' qualification.
