Just bought a suitcase at duty free Lotte Ginza Karen to pack all the extra stuff we bought, but the dude put a “do not open” sticker on it. Can someone explain this to me?? He said we don’t need to go to the airport counter the way I do with the cosmetics I bought at the drugstore lest I pay consumption tax, so I’m confused as to why I wouldn’t be able to open the suitcase.

Also, what happens if I don’t visit the duty free counter at HND/NRT to declare consumable products purchased at drugstores like skincare?

Hi all, hoping to find two things for my parents before we head back to the states—sharp garden shears for my mom, and a fish scaler for my dad. Prefer to buy true Japanese stainless steel, as I’m told it’s the best. Any idea where I can find these appliances? TIA!

ok this is pretty embarrassing so would appreciate some grace….

My husband and I went to the Olivine Pools today (amazing) but we took the wrong path on the way down (we saw no trail markers, just various foot paths). Rather than going back up the wrong way, we tried to go back up the correct way, but ended up getting lost in the brush (thought we were following a foot path but must’ve actually been a hog run 🤦) We were kind of in a panic at this point and were trampling around in the dense brush for 10-15 minutes just trying to break our way through to the road before we finally found the correct path. Are there any animals or plants we could’ve come into contact with that could pose a threat? I got a few cuts from what i hope were just harmless branches, but want to be prepared for other possibilities just in case.

So yeah, any plant life/animal life we could’ve come into contact with in West Maui that could pose a serious threat? Ticks? Spiders? Reptiles? Poisonous plants? etc? 😭

Hi everybody, my AP just asked me if I have any interest in teaching AP Lang and in all honesty I’m not too interested (more of a Lit gal), but before I’ve totally made up my mind, I wanted to ask those of you who’ve taught it how you felt about the class. What did your curriculum look like? What are the benefits/downfalls? Am I better off sticking with gen ed English 12? TIA!!

I’m admittedly anti-jess (sorry) but I have to give him credit where credit is due for shooting it straight with Rory in season 6. I really respect him for being the only one willing to confront her for her bullshit—it’s *insufferable* to watch Rory become like her grandparents, and I appreciate that Jess calls her out on that. She desperately needed that honesty. Also love that he matures and writes his book ❤️ Still don’t like him for Rory but I’ll concede that he shows excellent growth so good for him!!
