Captain is doing much better!

Captain is doing much better!

After a couple weeks on darbepoetin and iron, my little guy has his spunk back! Pictured: time for stories (tonight's movie is clerks 2). He's chasing his sisters, chattering with me and husband, and eating like a porkchop.

Today is a VERY GOOD DAY.

Thank you to the rail guys for not killing cobra chicken babies

Forgive my ignorance.

Some "not rail cars" (idk what they were.. short, slow, not the usual cars i see on tracks..) went down tracks by loveday mushroom plant yesterday. There were two large geese that pretty much refused to move. One of the "cars" went through, the second guy stopped and went to rescue the baby geese hiding on the tracks. No geese were hurt in this situation and that guy is a big fucking deal to me. Cheers to you, cobra chicken rescuer!

I need well wishes, good witch spells, whatever you can do for my little guy. I am not asking for and do not want money.

He's dipping again and I think he's burnt 8 lives. Any good thoughts would help.. well.. me. I feel like my heart is being ripped out of my body.

How do you know when its time to help them cross the rainbow Bridge?

I think he has more fight in him, he's been sick for a while... bouncing back, going down, etc. We have a vet appt in 2 days to chrck his bloodwork. He's 8.

He's been so tired lately buy brightens uo whenever we're near him. He's in absolutely no pain, but quite anemic. We have iron and meds to help boost his blood cells and I'm hoping that helps.

I'm not looking for vet advice.. Just.. if anyone is willing to bring up painful memories, how did you know it was time? I'm so sorry in advance for even asking. I just don't want him to suffer.

Appreciation post for our tough little fiv+ kitties? I'll start. Show me your cats! I want to see all of them. We go through a lot of stress for our babies and should have a happy moment.

My friends 4 y old twins loved captain so much they bought him toys.

Are FIV+ cats more affectionate than FIV-?

At our 2nd most recent appointment our vet mentioned FIV+ cats are usually more affectionate than other cats. I've only had the one, and he's always been super affectionate (we call him our puppy) .. I'm just wondering if this is a thing anyone else has noticed? Cat tax included, and much thanks for the support on my last post. This sub is what I needed (especially in the last two months of hell our little cat fam has been going through) and I really appreciate the helpful comments!

I have 7 new white hairs

After almost 2 months of antibiotics, little dude is finally bouncing back. He is talking to me nonstop and has decided that out bed (which he has barely left since he got sick) is now his and my husband and I can sleep on the floor. I have at least 7 new white hairs and I've lost 5 lbs. I love the little demon, though.

Has anyone had luck with darbepoietin in cases of severe anemia? I don't have high hopes for this but I'm hoping for some success stories.

I think I've watched the extended trilogy about 30 times this year. I've lost 4 family members (jan-feb) and I think I may now be losing my cat. I am not a person that cries but I cried so hard tonight my husband didn't argue about how many times I've watched, he just put the trilogy on. There is nothing that soothes my soul like the trilogy does. I cant imagine how much worse this would be without the trilogy.
