Weirdness of Xant-Rar: This world exists in a permanent state of divine negligence.

Xant-Rar is a realm of countless floating islands hurtling through space. Nobody knows whether they are flying or endlessly falling. Not even the god who made them...

That foolish god is named Rar. He created everything with genuine enthusiasm but broke almost all of it immediately. Every creature, every land, every broken system in Xant-Rar traces back to a specific mistake Rar made and refused to take responsibility for.

While creating animals, Rar got distracted trying to decide which rabbit was the cutest and which fox was the most interesting. He lost focus and accidentally produced things like the Litterbuck, a hybrid stuck somewhere between a pigeon and a deer, and the Gilltrot, which is what happens when you accidentally mix a salmon with a fox. The CandySheep exist because at some point Rar was thinking about candy and sheep at the same time.

The factions evolved in ways Rar never intended. Vampires figured out SPF 3000 sunscreen and moved past the bloodlust entirely. Most of them run bakeries now.

Werewolves, permanently on edge because their full moon cycle runs 1678 years, channeled that anxiety into the barbecue industry.

Every faction also follows one of three cultures: Love, War or Occult. they emerged completely independently of anything Rar planned. (if he planned anything at all)

The Drylands exist because Rar created a beautiful lush landscape, got so excited dreaming about the BBQ parties and karaoke tournaments he would host there that his emotions literally caught fire and scorched it down to the last blade of grass.

Curious what other worldbuilders think about silly lore and unreliable (but somewhat charming) or incompetent creator figure as the foundation of a world.

I found it gave us enormous freedom because anything broken or weird in the world has a built-in excuse and explanation.

Every world needs a HERO too. Xant-rar unfortunately already had 543 chosen ones that were tasked by RAR to fix the problems and chaos brewing in the realm. All of them failed...

Do you guys find video game voice capture BTS as funny as I do?

I used to take the NPC voices in video games for granted, but knowing now that there was a talented person growling and making funny faces to get into a character of a cartoon raccoon or something, is unbelievably funny to me.

In an increasing world of AI slop games, we are still hand-drawing our world bit by bit.

We are a small indie team based in Turkey. Our game is in development for 5 years now, but early access is coming soon!

Would mean the world to us if you checked our game out and wishlist it if that's something up your alley!

I sometimes feed them peanuts or dog food.

I hear eggs are nice but it's a bit too much effort to do often.

We are making a game with three combat skill trees you can mix freely, deep crafting mechanics, including cooking, fishing, farming, beer and spirit distillation, boss fights with actual backstories and quests tied to NPC city restoration... This (weird) world is different every run.

Four years in development, every asset is hand drawn, no AI in the game.

We plan on launching later this year.

Happy to answer any questions about the game!
