AoS models are just so much fun to paint! I was a bit skeptical about manifestations at first and felt almost annoyed that I "had to" add some to my army to avoid throwing away an advantage. But ultimately, I simply had a blast painting them! And they have been so helpful on the table.

I went full on with the airbrush to get most of the shading and glow effects done (especially on the bases), folllowed by drybrushing for the glowing teeth and flames, and constrast paints for the life swarm.

The Challenger

After the last points reductions (that reduced almost everything I had in my army by 10 points each) I suddently found myself with enough overhead to add a Chaos Lord, so here they are!

I really tried to lean into the OSL this time. With past models, I was always a bit afraid to add too much glow, but this time I went all in to practice. I really love the result, and hope you like it as well!

My first warband, the Slaves to Catness!

After learning that you can simply use your AoS modes to make a warband, I convinced a couple of people in my LGS to try warcry -- and how much fun that was!

Here's my little warband, built around and named after the Sphiranx, which is probably my favourite model in the StD range. Also added two pictures from the ensuring games.

I love how intuitive and straightforward the basic rules are, and how quick the game is a result. Keeping all the abilities in mind took a round or two, but adds a nice layer of decisions to each turn. Definitely won't be the last time I played!
