Mustang PJ Bass Selector Switch Replacement

Mustang PJ Bass Selector Switch Replacement

I would like to replace the selector switch on my bass with either a blend pot or a second volume control, essentially having a more conventional PJ circuit in the bass. How achievable would this mod be, and which option (blend knob/2nd volume control) is likely to have better results?

Stadium Arcadium album commentary be like

John and Flea: So when making this album we started with four hours of meditation and yoga every morning to focus the creative mind, then jammed together inspired by Hendrix, Coltrane and Bach to come up with ideas, then closed off each day with a sacred tea ceremony

The transfem experience…

…is chatting with my queer cis friend, having her vent to me about how she can’t get a decent date and me being sympathetic, whilst all the while she doesn’t know that I have a huge, painful unrequited crush on her 😅

Oh the silly life I live

How do you teach cover lessons?

I teach guitar at a local music school. Been asked to cover for another guitar teacher’s students for the next couple weekends while he’s on vacation.

With my own assigned students I have a pretty good idea of assigned repertoire, where they’re at with it etc. Obviously I don’t have this with the other teacher’s students.
What are some good approaches to teaching cover lessons to make sure the student gets something out of it/it isn’t just me effectively saying “cool, keep doing what [other guy] told you to do”?

Feedback Request (Sor Op.35, Study 2)

Mostly a rock/jazz player but have been trying to get back into practicing classical guitar. Mainly looking for feedback on how to improve right hand technique and fluidity, but feel free to flag anything that jumps out

Is there a good source for news that isn’t actively transphobic?

I have been using the BBC and Guardian apps to keep up to date with UK/world issues but learning more about how both have actively pushed a biased and dehumanising agenda about us over the last few years and don’t want to use them for coverage anymore

But trying to find an alternative news source that isn’t just 100x worse is proving difficult

This shit is so good

I know that Bruce isn’t in it and the whole arc was sidelined pretty quickly afterwards by the New 52 reboot but Black Mirror is just about everything I want from a good Batman story, detective noir with some psychological horror influence and a little humour in there too. I really like how Dick is written as having a contrasting Batman persona to Bruce, acting slightly differently and with a different motivation too. Having characters like Gordon and Joker who know Bruce’s Batman best acknowledge that someone else is under the mask was a great touch too. Has made me want to read more Dick Grayson/Nightwing focused stories

What are some good strategies for teaching a kid to read sheet music applied to guitar?

I have a new 10y/o guitar student who has been playing for about 2-3 years. His mom wants him to start learning classical guitar with a view to taking exams. With his previous teacher he only worked with tabs and chord diagrams.
I will need to teach him how to read treble clef, and also where the notes are on the fretboard (early stage ABRSM rep will use open strings up to 3rd fret).

I have no reference point for teaching younger kids this stuff as I was about 18 when I learned to read guitar notation, and I could already read treble clef from playing flute. Any tips?

I (25MTF) have had four and a half laser sessions to remove my facial hair (broke down crying from the pain midway through the fifth, so we had to stop halfway through). Money is a little tight rn and so instead of paying the money for the next few sessions I wondered about finishing my fifth session which I already paid for and then stopping my clinic treatment and just getting a home IPL.

I know that these aren’t as effective as professional hair removal but I will save a lot of money as I still have the rest of my body hair to go after my face. Plus I’m on HRT so will hopefully experience some thinning overall which will work alongside the IPL.

Any thoughts?
