Little menace wants meat slurry in a bottle- advice appreciated

Hi all! So, first time foster, and first time taking care of a bottle baby kitten. And with premolars erupted- time to wean! (per suggestion from the group I'm fostering for)

Which initially she jumped on! It was great. She downed a bunch of dry then figured out the wet food with some KMR pretty quickly. There was some meat sucking, but she quickly switched from that to actually licking and got a good bit, and was mostly eating it off my fingers. She was full enough where she rejected the bottle after. Yay!

....Aaaaaand then. I went in to check on her a couple hours later and she was screaming her head off like she was hungry, food and water still down. Ok, lets get her a bottle.

...Nope. Rejected it. Still screaming head off. Huh. Ok.

I put her down in front of the dry food. She took two pieces of kibble, before coming back to me yelling some more, personally offended.

I put her in front of the meat slurry bowl. She immediately turned around yelling at me. I scooped some meat slurry into my fingers and held it out, and she IMMEDIATELY latched onto my hand and started suckling like crazy.

Tried to bottle again. Nope. Put in front of bowl, nope. Hand with meat slurry. Suckle and latch.

So uh...

Has anyone had this happen? I don't quite know what to do about it. Apparently I got too cocky with how good she initially took to it, and now the girl seems to be throwing a fit that she can't have her meat in a bottle to suckle on.

Translation of Icelandic text- saga of Haakon the good question

so r/norse directs people here for all translation help, apologies if this isn’t the right place for this specific question.

alright I’ve been pulling my hair out for years over this one and the few emails I’ve sent to modern translators of published works has never gotten a response (fair. probably busy as heck and I’m asking out of curiosity not for any work or paper)- BUT.

In the saga of Haakon the Good, there is the bit about the Yule feast and toasting Njord, Frey and Odin for it.

except in many older translations, it’s Njord, FREYJA and Odin.

which. kind of a big difference, that.

I have been trying to find out where that different translation happened and what is the reasoning behind it was for *years*, but I do not speak or read ye olde Icelandic. so. I am limited. It is something that is such a minor blip on most people‘s radars that I haven’t been able to find anything discussing it online.

does anyone have any info on this, or has a good direction for me to go to to ask?

Help me find this stoneware set, but in white

Alright. I am going crazy and my searching has failed me. I have the tea cup, saucer, creamer and pitcher and teapot of this set but in white. I want to try and get the rest in the same color, but I cannot find it anywhere, all I'm getting is the yellow. I swear to god it's the exact same mold, and this is by Boston International.

Suggestion for whale watching tours, and best time to see Minke Whales?

Hi all! Just found out my favorite whale actually charts off the virginia coast and is listed as a possible sighting june-november in VA beach, but having a hard time finding any more detailed information (everything is on humpbacks and dolphins, of course. I just had to be ~different~ and like a less popular whale lol).

First, any suggestions for whale watching companies would be awesome. I am a native Virginian and have visited VA beach before, but this would be my first whale watching trip. Also, if anyone has any info on minke whales or suggestions of sites/people to follow on social media who will have more info, I appreciate it.

Guests leaving shortly after entering???

I'm going crazy right now lol. I made a second entrance in my zoo and NO ONE is engaging with anything. I double checked prices of all the shops I have immediately on entrance, you can see the education signs, and in the first photo you can see the highlighted person I'm using as an example of turning around. He walked past 2 exhibits of high appeal exhibit animals, and the habitat on the right of the screen he was in front of was for a snow leopard- once again, not a low appeal one.

You can see in the second photo where he stops- in full view of the snow leopard habitat. And yes, the group right behind also had the same behavior- no stopping at any ships or exhibits, then switched to "going home" right after i took this screenshot.

Anyone have any information on why they are turning around like this? It's driving me up the wall TT_TT
