10 Rock Songs Against The Music Industry

There have been many artists and bands that have called out the struggle within the business. This video looks at 10 rock songs against the music industry.

The music industry has not gotten better over time. In fact, many people think the massive labels and CEOs have become wealthy while musicians have gone broke. Then there’s the whole streaming issue where Spotify has completely grown generational wealth and given less than one third of a cent per song stream. This video goes over some of the songs that stood out for saying something about selling out, skeezy businessmen, and the overall struggle to be a musician.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD Shock With Statica and JARED LETO Accusations | The Podcast That Rocked

The Podcast That Rocked for 7/29/26. Avenged Sevenfold shock with experimental (and bad) Statica, new Jared Leto accusations, more.

Discussion Topics:
-Avenged Sevenfold double down on tripping with Statica
-Jared Leto: Hollywood's Dark Secret, New Documentary from BBC
-Pee Pee at My Chemical Romance concert in Ireland
-Poo Poo at Devilskin concert in New Zealand
-Faith No More to finally return
-Upcoming albums/tours/more

Song Of The Week: Black Spikes “Zelvar” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Z7zseSRZPY

Avenged Sevenfold have double (or tripled) down on both experimental rock, auto-tune, and hallucinogens for the surprise four-track EP Statica. A7X has even played the EP live as a between sets act, but it begs the question: Does anyone besides Avenged Sevenfold enjoy this?

10 Rock Songs That Aged PERFECTLY

While some videos talk about how badly songs have aged, this time we take a positive spin on songs that still hold up. This video looks at 10 Rock Songs That Aged PERFECTLY.

After several people suggested a video about songs that aged well (in the comments of 10 Songs That Aged HORRIBLY), I realized this is a great time to do it. The only reason I hadn’t before is because 1.) Positive videos don’t always do well, and; 2.) I hadn’t thought of it until then. Thanks to everyone that suggested this idea on songs that did age well. There are plenty out there, so if this video does well, I’ll make a follow up on this.

Avenged Sevenfold - Statica | EP Review

Avenged Sevenfold have doubled down on the experimental, electronic, and hallucinogens. Maybe tripled down on the hallucinogens.

Normally when a band embraces experimentation from their set style, it will divide an audience as well as fan base (Life Is A But A Dream… proved this). A surprise EP from Avenged Sevenfold ten years ago would have had metal fans excited. The year is 2026 and both Avenged fans and metal fans have now received shock for what could possibly be the band’s worst material to date.

Statica is filled with electronic synths, voice-modding, and a barrage of layered tracks to distort any rhythm. It’s hard to break down any specific point to latch onto as there is never a steady pulse.  Harsh effects and samples lead to everyone involved sounding unhinged and uncaring.

This is the type of album that doesn’t engage the listener and depends on diehard fans being willing to do a copious amount of mushrooms or acid in order to appreciate it. That’s a big ask.

Some of the vocal effects might be in place to help work around M. Shadows’ remaining vocal issues. Those same vocal effects sound horrendous layered on conflicting percussion and synth work. The results don’t allow you to connect with lyrics or emotion. On top of that, this album wastes the talent of a guitarist like Synyster Gates who barely resembles a wildly skilled musician from the band’s discography.

Four tracks with fleeting highlights leave almost nothing worth revisiting. Avenged Sevenfold may be entertained by this, but it’s hard to imagine anyone else will support the music itself. If the band were to reveal this was all a significant amount of trolling just to receive negative reactions for laughs, I would believe it. Mission accomplished?

If Statica is a sincere EP, then Avenged Sevenfold badly needs an intervention for both music direction and rampant drug use.

Overal: 3/10

10 Rock Songs That Aged HORRIBLY

Some songs did not age well and need to be addressed. This video looks at 10 rock songs that aged horribly.

I wanted to make a follow to the video about badly aged songs from 2022. I think enough time has passed to warrant looking at what else is no longer enjoyable due to various reasons. Some seem harmless at least? Others…shouldn’t have existed in the first place. Sorry for bringing some of these back to your attention, but it’s important to address what’s bad so we know what is great.

AARON LEWIS Has Album Shredded For Taylor Swift Packaging | The Podcast That Rocked

The Podcast That Rocked for 7/1/26. Aaron Lewis has his new album shredded for packaging to ship with new Taylor Swift albums, Bring Me The Horizon returning to deathcore, more.

Discussion Topics:
-Aaron Lewis' new album is so trash that the liner notes and cover were used as package filler for a Taylor Swift album
-Bring Me The Horizon go back to deathcore
-King Ultramega launches honoring Chris Cornell
-Talking about Dear God from The Pretty Reckless
-Talking about The WOW! Signal from Muse
-Evanescence's "Bring Me To Life" goes Diamond
-Rock Hall “Women In Metal” Exhibit
-GWAR Auction to help Sexecutioner fight cancer
-Upcoming albums/tours/more

SONG OF THE WEEK: Bring Me The Horizon "Dehumanized" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ilqeDbu4E8Y

We now live in a world where a label, distribution company, and printing/shipping company all agree that Aaron Lewis solo work is such trash that it’s actually easier to use the new album’s artwork and cover materials as packaging for better artists than to actually just buy packing peanuts. Once Lewis sobers up from his MAGA meeting and playing hate songs, he might actually feel embarrassed!

Discussion Topics:
-Deftones' Eros leaked; should fans listen?
-GWAR investigated by Secret Service (yes, really)

SONG OF THE WEEK: Loathe “Fangs” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JefYd7TBck

After roughly 18 years, the abandoned Deftones album Eros (the final album to feature Chi Cheng) was leaked online. Many Deftones fans are split on whether they should listen or not. Interestingly, no one is arguing if the album is good or not for those who HAVE listened, but rather the argument is if Deftones will officially release their own version now that Eros has been put online.

WARPED TOUR DC 2026 Was Nostalgic and Sweaty

A recap of Warped Tour DC 2026, showing footage of the two-day event, band performances, asking bands their favorite Warped Tour memories, and more.

Warped Tour DC 2026 was definitely a step up when looking back at the former traveling circus format it was in years past, but the DC event still had some issues. I’m not sure if I’d go again unless the lineup was absolutely stellar. RFK Grounds doesn’t exactly make it easy to enjoy it all. Also, why don’t people wear sunscreen?!

PHIL LABONTE Says Therapy Is For Women; INK VS DBD | The Podcast That Rocked

SONG OF THE WEEK: Motionless In White “R.I.P.” (ft. Skylar Grey) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OeRIoWmQA6k

"The idea that men can go to therapy and that's gonna solve their problems is ridiculous. Therapy is for women. Men don't solve their problems by talking. Men solve their problems through action. So men should be doing things with other men, like building things, going out and fixing cars, whatever it is. But those kind of activities are what will help a man feel accomplished, help a man feel like he's got purpose. Just going and talking to a therapist, that's not what fixes men." ANC Settings make the bass clip

I've had these headphones for years now, I preordered the, when they came out and I'm more than pleased with the quality and durability. They look rough since I haven't changed any of the ear pads or the head pad yet, but I'll definitely do that.

My issue for the last couple of days is, that when connected to my phone and hell blocker is on, the bass is terribly clipping and I'm trying really hard to resolve this issue. I tried cleaning them, especially the microphones, deinstalled and reinstalled the app, looked everywhere on my phone for Noise Cancelling settings, the app itself doesn't have any settings for that, reset them, tried to clear out any Bluetooth problems, unpaired and paired them numerous times and I still have the same issue. nothing changed. It's really annoying to the point that I cannot use them at the moment which is obviously incredibly frustrating. It is 100% a setting/software issue since they work completely fine while the hellblocker is turned off but I always felt the ANC was a really good feature that I always use and was one of the reasons I bought them.

Did anyone had a similar problem? And how can I fix it??

Thank you in advance!

Richard Patrick (Filter) New Industrial EP "A Place To Kill" | Interview 2026 https://youtu.be/h1xEGTN47ts

"In recent years, there's been a lot of talk in the music industry about how to combat the bots that routinely buy up concert tickets on behalf of scalpers. One prominent rock band's solution involves ticket buyers having their eyeballs scanned to prove they're human. Thirty Seconds To Mars, the hard rock combo led by actor Jared Leto (who was accused of sexual misconduct by nine women last year), is deploying an online ticketing tool called Concert Kit for their 2027 tour of Europe and the UK. According to the San Francisco Standard, the system involves each customer creating a verified World ID, an encrypted digital passport created by an orb that scans your irises and face. It uses "proof of human" technology developed by Tools For Humanity, a company founded by OpenAI's Sam Altman. To get a World ID, you have to visit an official World store or a partner retailer and have your eyes scanned." (Stereogum)

I mean Kid Rock, Staind, and Five Finger Death Punch are now in my search history enough that the NRA is sending me a membership and the GOP fundraisers are asking me for money. Gross. Register to vote and understand the music you listen to. Pay attention. Otherwise you’ll have a bunch of “brainwashed” fans who think you are a good lyric writer.

SUBSCRIBE TO ARTV https://www.youtube.com/user/BeyondARTV

A year after his death, Ozzy Osbourne is set to be recreated as a lifesized AI-powered avatar, his family have announced – but fans aren’t entirely happy. The late rocker’s son Jack and his wife, Sharon, announced on 20 May at Licensing Expo, an event for brands in Las Vegas, that the family had partnered with tech companies Hyperreal and Proto Hologram to create an Ozzy Osbourne avatar. The Black Sabbath frontman died in July 2025 at the age of 76. “It’s kind of scary how it’s really very accurate,” Jack Osbourne told the audience at Licensing Expo. “He will exist digitally as himself for as long as we have computers. Technology has come such a long way to where it’s almost drag and drop. You could shoot a template for a commercial … literally prompt what you want Digital Ozzy to do in that commercial and you just drop it in. It’s that simple now.” Sharon Osbourne added: “We’re going to take it all around the world. People can talk to him and he will talk back. “Elvis died 50 years ago and everybody knows Elvis. I just want that for Ozzy.” (The Guardian)

Flotsam and Jetsam Unleash "Rats In The Temple" Single + Video

THRASH LEGENDS FLOTSAM AND JETSAM UNLEASH RABID TITLE TRACK FROM FORTHCOMING ALBUM RATS IN THE TEMPLE  WATCH

ALBUM OUT VIA NAPALM RECORDS AUGUST 28 — PRE-ORDER

Finally, the time has come, the first look into thrash legends FLOTSAM AND JETSAM's new album Rats In The Temple, out AUGUST 28 via Napalm Records. The album's title track is a ghoulish hit packing sweeping guitarmonies, thunderous drums, and exalted frontman Eric A.K. Knutson's haunting wail. After four trailblazing decades, countless world tours, and 15 groundbreaking studio albums, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM remain refined and revered.

Eric A.K. Knutson says about the track:
"We're super excited to release the first single from the album, which is very fittingly the title track, 'Rats In The Temple'!  This song has a lot to say, and we hope the fans love the song as much as we do. This is possibly one of the most technically challenging songs FLOTSAM has ever recorded, and we look forward to delivering this song live as well!"

Thrash metal icons FLOTSAM AND JETSAM, known for their trailblazing blend of blistering thrash and soaring power metal—established on breakthrough records like the Kerrang! championed classic Doomsday for the Deceiver, (1986), No Place for Disgrace, (1988), and Cuatro, (1992) and refined in their current renaissance with the German chart climbing The End of Chaos, (2019), Blood in the Water, (2021), and I Am the Weapon, (2024)—are back with their newest diamond, and Napalm Records debut, Rats In The Temple, out AUGUST 28. With nearly four decades on the scene, countless world tours, and appearances at prestigious festivals like Wacken, Graspop, Bloodstock, Alcatraz, and Rockhard, they've carved their sound down to a fine point, piercing listeners with earth-shattering blast beats, scorching guitars, epic string arrangements, and exalted frontman A.K. Knutson's unmistakably haunting wail.

Frontman Eric A.K. Knutson about the album:
"This record is a BEAST, truly our best effort to date!! Do yourself a favor. Dim the lights, grab a drink, put the headphones on, and crank this up. You will not be sorry you did!!!"

Pre-Order Your Copy of Rats In The Temple HERE.

Rats In The Temple opens strong with the stadium-ready hooks and dizzyingly precise performances of "Harvesting The Hate" and "Damnation", before delving into thrash virtuosity on "Absolution." The iconic guitar duo of Michael Gilbert and Steve Conley paint vividly ghoulish images on tracks like "Blame The Knife" and "Rats In the Temple," then continue to flex their metal muscle on "The Ghost Behind My Door" and "First on the Spike," invoking pure first-wave excellence with a pummeling modern menace. "The Edge of Nowhere" builds inescapable suspense before firing listeners out of a gun, full throttle into "Last Rites," another standout track for the band. The legendary rhythm duo of drummer Ken Mary and bassist Bill Bodily take center stage on the anti-war anthem "A Taste For War," their methodical syncopation invoking images of tanks and boots on the ground. "Her Blood Your Pain" brings ornate, medieval guitarmonies before "Anthem For The Broken" goes full balls to the wall, and "Going Down That Way" hits listeners with heavy riffs and even heavier truths. Rats In The Temple remains enthralling throughout, giving listeners entry to numerous of the band's metal chambers, sampling a refined and eclectic serving of influences.

Churning like magma beneath the Earth, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM have only been growing more and more fiery with time, and Rats In The Temple sees the band exploding to the surface in a magnificent and awe-inspiring blaze. For fans new and longstanding, you cannot escape them; they're through the walls.

“10,000 Days is the fourth studio album by the American metal band Tool. The album was released by Tool Dissectional and Volcano Entertainment on April 28, 2006 in parts of Europe, April 29, 2006 in Australia, May 1, 2006 in the United Kingdom, and on May 2, 2006 in North America. It marked the first time since recording 1993's Undertow that the band had worked at Grandmaster and without producer David Bottrill. 10,000 Days spawned three top ten rock singles: "Vicarious", "The Pot", and "Jambi". It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, with first week sales of 564,000 copies. The album was awarded a double platinum certification by both the RIAA and the RMNZ.” (Wiki)
