Cuyahoga County jury duty confusion. Two official phone numbers give opposite instructions. What did you do?

I'm hoping someone who has actually gone through Cuyahoga County jury duty can help.

My summons tells me to call 216 443 6608. When I call that number, the recording says there are no new trials on Monday and to call back Monday evening for Tuesday. It never mentions draw numbers or reporting ranges.

The Cuyahoga County Common Pleas website tells jurors to call 216 698 2977. That recording says draw numbers 1 through 470 are to report on Monday to the 4th floor of the Justice Center.

My draw number is within the 1 through 470 range.

So one official Cuyahoga County phone number is telling me not to come in Monday, while another official Cuyahoga County phone number is telling me to come in Monday.

Has anyone else had this exact situation?

Which phone number did you follow?

Did you call the Jury Commission to verify which one was correct?

If you followed the summons recording and stayed home, did everything work out?

If you showed up anyway, did they send you home or give you documentation for your employer showing that you appeared?

I'm looking for responses from people who have actually dealt with this because the official information appears to contradict itself, and I don't want to either miss jury duty or unnecessarily miss work.

My first henna and zeffeh

Hello ladies! I’m not Muslim but I follow this sub because I’m around a lot of Muslims and find myself intrigued by the religion.

This weekend I’m going to my first henna party and zeffeh before a wedding. I have a beautiful thobe for the henna, and a lovely conservative but sparkly dress for the zeffeh and wedding. I’ve been to the weddings but this will be my first henna and zeffeh. I’m unsure what to expect and my partner is no help as he’s always with the males. I’m a pasty white girl with tattoos who doesn’t speak Arabic (though I’m learning!) so I always feel a little awkward at the large events.

So I’d love some advice on what to expect at these events. They are Palestinian if that makes a difference. Is it pretty much just like a wedding where we wait for the bride and groom (who are always super late, lol) and then just clap and do the dancing? Does everybody get some henna or just the bride?

Just want to make sure there aren’t any specific rituals I need to be aware of. And as an “outsider” I always worry about offending, even though most are so lovely and welcoming.

Thank you so much for any words of wisdom or advice!

Halfway Reputable Piercer?

So my piercer recently moved 45 minutes away. She recommended some other piercers that she would trust but all but one are also 45 minutes away. The other is in Ohio City, but trying to find parking there on a Saturday is just enraging.

So I just want the gem in my nostril piercing switched out. Bar is staying, just the threadless tip needs changed. I cannot for the life of me get it out myself. I also don’t want to drive 45 minutes for this. So, I’m looking for a piercer that is halfway decent. They don’t have to be APP certified, but I also don’t want Body Revolutions (🤢). Something in the middle. Any recommendations for a 5 minutes job that’s close to Westpark and has some standards?

Thanks!

2 month progress, plus question

Hello all, newbie here. Left is April 13, right is today. Not a ton of visible progress, but I'm thrilled. My nails used to peel terribly and be very soft, so I had acrylics for years, obviously making them worse. Only thing I've been using is Hard As Hoof cream, 2-3x a day. I've tried other things in the past with no luck, so I'm happy to have found something that is helping. They actually feel stronger and smoother and haven't been peeling.

Anyway, the Hard As Hoof says you can apply it over nail polish, but I'm just afraid it won't be as effective and I don't want to slow down my progress. But, I also miss having color on my nails. Would it be harmful to my nails to maybe apply polish for a couple days and then remove it with acetone and have naked nails for a few days? I'm just not sure if the acetone will damage my nails. Or would it be better to use press-on nails and soak them off?

Thank you for any advice!

Switch gem only in nose piercing

Hello! I'm the first to advocate for going to a high quality piercer. My piercer recently switched to a shop 45 minutes away. She recommended a shop that's closer to me, but it's in a trendy neighborhood and parking on a Saturday is impossible. The other places she recommended are all 30-45 minutes away.

So here's my question - I want the gem in my nostril switched. It's a flatback threadless labret. I don't want the bar changed, just the gem. I cannot get the current gem out to save my life. Feels like she glued it in when she placed it for me! LOL Is it okay to go to a place I'd never dream of getting a fresh piercing in just to have them switch the gem in my nose? I assume that any average piercer could switch this out for me in just a minute or two and I just can't justify spending an hour or two round trip for this.

If it matters, piercing was done last August, implant grade titanium, flatback threadless labret. Thanks for your thoughts!

Symphony At Sunset

Free symphony every Sunday (weather permitting) through August down at Voinovich Park behind the Rock Hall. The musicians are Opus 216. It was my first time and it was really lovely! The weather was perfect, the music was great, the cityscape was nice, and even the sounds of the boats and planes and bridges wasn’t distracting. Large turnout of people and it was a respectful crowd. Just a really awesome date night tonight. Finding things like this just makes me love this city even more. ❤️
