Tata Nexon Petrol AMT - I changed my opinion
After completing a 1750 km solo road trip in my 2022 Tata Nexon Petrol AMT, my opinion on the car has completely changed.
Coming from a Brezza ZDI AMT (diesel ( read higher torque ) , which gets me around 15–16 kmpl even in the current E20 era), I was never a huge fan of the Nexon. However, I decided to take it on this trip simply because I didn't want to replace the worn-out tires on my Brezza just yet.
Here are my key takeaways from the trip:
- Sports Mode is a game-changer: The car offers fantastic torque, control and exceptional high-speed stability. Never realise I one touched 165 KMPH
- Fuel Economy: I averaged 14 kmpl over the trip, driving mostly in Eco Mode using high-octane fuel (Speed petrol @ ₹126/L).
- Wet Weather Performance: Driving extensively through heavy rain and wet roads, the car felt planted and rock-solid. Thanks to its heavy build, there was minimal air or water drag.
