Thoughts from London Card Show, my first card show attended!

Just went to my 1st card show Saturday and thought I would share a couple of bits for anyone thinking about going to one in future, or if you're holding on to some of these items mentioned...

Raw cards - If you have near mint raw cards then 'Ungraded' (who I had seen advertised on facebook recently) were by far the best and hassle free service available. Tables were offering 70% - 80% Cash values on cards, 'Ungraded' offered 90% of market on cards worth £30 or more, was quick and hassle free and I sold about £300 worth of cards to them and got paid £270. Worth checking these guys out.

Table etiquette when trying to sell / trade - Almost all tables were clogged up by people trying to offload or trade 10's of cards at a time, even with pulse speeding this process up they should really have a max limit per transaction / interaction. Half the time after the vendor has spent time pricing everything the punter then tries to negotiate individual cards before then taking everything and clogging up another vendor and queuing punters to do the same again. Making this worse is each vendor typically only has 1 proper decision maker so you have a lot of people waiting for 1 person.

ACE slabs - These were treated like contraband, 80% of vendors didn't want them (all of mine I was looking to shift across pokemon and Lorcana were graded 10's for reference) and the 20% who entertained them only wanted to offer 70% of last solds. I'd always been under the impression that ACE slabs were liquid movers as they weren't as expensive as PSA but seems most vendors have been having trouble moving them. Really sad considering I believe ACE to be the best UK grading provider, they didn't even have a table at this show which I found surprising.

Cash is king - This won't be a surprise, vendors were more likely to accept offers with cash

Modern cards - Some cards were so readily available it was crazy. Take the first partner kanto trio promos, there were 100's of these available at this show, way too many available to keep the current price. Lots of Ascended Heroes SIRS. Very few tag teams (these are still underpriced), didn't see much 151 either.

Pokemon - This Show felt like it was 70% pokemon cards, 15% sports cards, 15% other bits and bobs!

TLDR - ACE slabs treated like crap. near mint raw cards selling consider ungraded, lots of Modern card prices are way too high, Don't try to sell / trade 10's of cards at a time. Pokemon and cash are king!

Shadow Nerf to immortal codex shop resource acquisition?

So since the changes they have made to immortal codex it seems the shop, namely the 10x ancient shards, have gone from being available to buy once every 30 days to around every 45 days or so. I realise they have provided extra rewards for the challenge modes but new content would normally be in addition not in place of established reward schedules. WoR are normally really good with this stuff, seems like an oversight. CC's bring it up!

What can I expect - UK to USA GSP sale - 'Returned to Consignor'

Recently sold a High-ish value (£2.6k) TCG collectable to a USA buyer via ebay GSP. I have successfully posted it to the hub and they have received and processed it. Following the 'shipped from global shipping center' message on pitney bowes tracking site from 30th June there have been the following messages:

- In transit, facility check in, response received, MULTIPLE on hold messages then on 6th July 'RETURNED TO CONSIGNOR' with no update since then.

Anyone have an idea what is likely to happen here?

The majority of guides on GSP I can see online suggest as long as it gets to the hub it is no longer my responsibility. But I couldn't find a scenario with this exact messaging.

Is my sale of this item 100% final and done? Or am I going to get the item returned and forced to refund? Or is this something that Ebay will have to sort? One article I read suggested the item becomes ebays property and they will refund the buyer and the seller keeps the sale proceeds.

Very confusing and stressful. All other GSP sales I have done, including to USA, have been easy as previously.

The Ceiling for Fabled Booster Boxes?

UK Ebay sales are now over £850 and rising. I sold one of mine last Monday, 15th June, for £610 and already massively increased since then. What is the ceiling here? Obviously the Ariel Enchanted has just sold for £5,000+ so not just the iconics doing big work here!

Woody 60/P3 promo Exclusivity?

Looks Like Ravensburger were giving this promo out at an expo here in the UK last weekend. Does anyone know how exclusive it is? Is it a UK exclusive? Resellers have them up for £20 and trying to work out if more will release. Difficult to get any info.

Wilds Unknown post release hype

UK based here, opened up 3 booster boxes, zero enchanted or iconic of course, bought a sealed case to stash away, checks all usual selling places here, booster boxes sold out, checks ebay, booster boxes basically sold out. A few places have troves left. These booster boxes will be £200 each in a matter of weeks if there are no restocks and the toy story enchanteds + buzz iconic pricing holds up

Buckle up it could get ugly, Ravensburger print some more fabled whilst you're at it...

Could ACE benefit from a 'minimum grade' option?

Obviously this suggestion wouldn't be needed for everyone as some people simply want their cards to be slabbed regardless of grade / value but with most modern card ACE 9 slabs essentially being the same price as raw would people like being given the option for a minimum grade when submitting?

So for collectors / Vendors who simply want 10's to sell if it doesn't get a 10 it just gets sent back raw? I have a few ACE 9's that I really only wanted in 10's and now have to crack them out. PSA slabs crack quite nicely but the ACE slab is so much thicker it seems a bit risky.

What cards are everyone buying, or trying to buy, in 2026

Hi All,

I have a Pokedex collection that I have been adding to and forgetting about on and off for about 12 years. Like most collectors been really back into it over the last 12 months and with prices skyrocketing on most things I have decided to make a visual buy list to try and help remind me what I actually want to buy in 2026 and not get distracted by other cards or products! Picked up the Magikarp IR in the last week, wonder how many of the others I can pick up this year.

What cards do you want to add this year?
