Could anyone send me pics of the Osborne with the short, satin color deep pocket clip and also the standard pocket clip which are usually black. I’m trying to decide which I like better before I put one on my knife. Also, are there any drawbacks to the deep pocket clips (short or long) Bonus: good excuse to show off your Benchmade.

My mother came across these tucked away in a drawer in the house I grew up in. I must have bought them at some point but I have no idea when, or why I hid them away in the first place. I’m 47 and I’ve been fishing since I was a little kid.

What would be the best model Leatherman for fishing in your opinion? Are any Leatherman models specifically designed for fishing or the outdoors? I have the wingman, which I like because of the spring loaded pliers, but I’m definitely open to trying new models. Thanks for your input.
Do the little replaceable cutters that some leatherman models come with cut through fishing braid such as power pro? Even small test diameter line? I think they’re made of carbide. Very curious.

He’ll I have a bunch of different flashlights and I know some are good names but I don’t really understand how flashlight strength works. I’ve always just gone by lumens using an 18500 battery. Always just figured the bright ones were at least 1k. Now I come to this subreddit and I don’t know the terms like candela or throw or anything about the lights themselves or lenses, etc.

Anyone here ever had a custom rod made? I’m literally thinking of taking out a home equity loan to pay for a $1,400 custom rod. I could also get a different model, which is a nice one in the 800 dollar range. The rods I’m talking about are the Century Surfmachine Elite $$$ or the Slingshot $. Question is should I take out the loan? Is an awesome custom rod worth it?
Also- I have a Zeebas reel on order to go with whichever rod I choose.

I bought 300 yards of Diawa jbraid pe#3 and a Diawa reel 6000 size which holds 300 meters of of the jbraid#3. I was hoping to not use backing… but is that the only way to get the full 300 yards out of the jbraid. I could just put it aside for now but I’d really like to be using it. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I have a 9’ Lamiglas surf rod that I want to pair with a nice reel. Budget is around $350-$650. Any recommendations? I’d like something that’s on the light side Maybe a 3,000 size. I used to have a VS 50 on it. But I need something beefier. Was looking at the certarte and saltist and similar reels. Never owned a Daiwa…

7’ G.Loomis GCX inshore paired with the Van Staal VR50 with 15lb Power Pro Super Slick (8 strand) line. Right now I got a Zara Spook on there because it’s also my schoolie rod, but I’ll put a flouro leader on there with an albie snack once they show up. Casts like a dream.
