How India happily gets fucked by Realme

Hey dumbasses. Do you know why Realme keeps fucking you over? BECAUSE YOU GLADLY LET THEM. They scammed you with the GT6—dropped the phone, completely abandoned kernel patches and updates, and you idiots clapped like trained seals. Then they scammed you again with the GT7—stuffed a rebranded, throttled 9300+ inside, slapped an ancient 2022 kernel (6.1) on it, and you’re out here crying "At least we have pretty UI folders and smooth animations!" You are so unbelievably dense that you don’t even realize the Linux kernel is the core bridge that handles CPU thread scheduling, power governors, thermal throttling, and hardware drivers! Because of this dead 6.1 kernel, your phone overheats in games, drains battery, and loses Wi-Fi through a single wall while Realme saves millions dodging BSP recertification costs. But you don’t care about hardware—you just keep eating overpriced garbage while getting corporate dick shoved down your throats. Keep clapping, you clueless sheep.

REALME, BBK, COLOROS 17 SCAM

BBK’s corporate greed has officially crossed every line, and the GT series is pure fraud.

Look at the Realme GT6: sold and abandoned. No kernel upgrades, no real patches. Pushing ColorOS 17 on ancient Kernel 6.1 is marketing bullshit—the device is officially buried because 6.1 can't pull this OS properly.

With the Realme GT7, the suits spat right in our faces. China got a real Dimensity 9400+ on a fresh Kernel 6.6 because Chinese buyers are treated like gods. Meanwhile, Global and Indian users are treated like second-class citizens—a classic segregation tactic straight out of Nazi Germany's playbook. They slapped a rebadged 9300+ ("9400E") on a rotting 6.1 kernel and abandoned us. The result? Over a year of broken Wi-Fi and severe overheating in games.

KERNEL 6.1 IS A DEAD KERNEL

Forget marketing fairytales about "extended support." It’s a scam designed for greedy corps to drag obsolete code while laughing at you. Android 17 and ColorOS 17 are engineered specifically for Kernel 6.12. It won't run properly on 6.1 or 6.6. Without 6.12, all those "smooth animations" are fake: expect dropped Wi-Fi, thermal throttling, and a bricked phone built to steal your cash.

Google, Samsung, and Xiaomi actively upgrade their kernels. Realme thinks it's special - well, there is a dedicated boiler in hell waiting for them.

When money is everything to you, for people you are nothing. Period. All the best.

Realme GT7 is officially DEAD. Realme is a scam company

Guys, accept the reality: the Realme GT7 is officially dead. There is a 90% chance we will NEVER see a kernel update to 6.6 or 6.12. They dumped a recycled MTK 9300+ on an unpatched 2022 Kernel 6.1, took your money, and moved on.

THE ONLY THING THEY WILL ACTUALLY DO:

They will keep pushing updates that artificially THROTTLE your CPU frequencies just to mask the heat. They are going to choke your device's performance to keep it from melting.

Forget about gaming.

Say hello to battery temperatures hitting 45–46°C+ on a daily basis.

To everyone claiming Android 17 will magically run fine on Kernel 6.1 - stop acting like NPCs and turn on your critical thinking. How can an obsolete, unpatched kernel from 2022 handle a 2027/2028 OS without crippling performance?

We got scammed.

Realme GT7 Pure racism towards Indian buyers

Look, if you still believe Realme’s pretty ads and think you’re buying a flagship, open your eyes—you’re getting straight-up scammed.

You fork over your hard-earned cash for the Realme GT7 in India, and what do you get? A crippled phone running a watered-down 9400e chip on an ancient 6.1 kernel that they won't even bother updating. And what about China? For their favorite buyers, they dropped the exact same phone with a proper MTK 9400+ and a fresh 6.6 kernel right out of the box.

Here is their attitude toward you in cold numbers:

China Version: MTK Dimensity 9400+ (3nm), Kernel 6.6, 12GB RAM — ~360$ (~2599 CNY).

India Version: MTK Dimensity 9400e (4nm), Kernel 6.1, 8GB RAM — ~480$ (~39,999 INR).

That means they charge you more money for worse hardware and a dead-end software branch. They don't give a damn. They sit on sacks of cash thinking they can sell an iron in India and call it a "gaming flagship" because people won't know the difference. They're about to pull the exact same crap with the upcoming Realme 16X, throwing together old warehouse scrap while flooding the internet with marketing cash.

Stop taking this and feeding these greedy suits. Smash those upvotes and comments so this post blows up, forcing this corporate trash and their blatant racism and contempt for the Indian market to finally open their eyes.

Peace out, stay smart, and stop buying Realme.

Realme 16X 5G is a phenomenal scam in India

Guys, we need to talk about the upcoming Realme 16X 5G (RMX5270). Realme genuinely thinks consumers in India are complete idiots who don't know a single thing about hardware. They think they can just smile, toss old warehouse junk onto store shelves, and we'll happily eat it up.

And since Realme is already shifting their entire lineup to ColorOS 17, they are now porting this software over to this absolute garbage hardware. But because the hardware is a total joke, they aren't giving you the real system—they're porting a heavily stripped-down, castrated version of ColorOS specifically made for the budget tiers and the poor, just so the phone can somehow manage to boot up and run without immediately dying on them.

Even with that crippled port, here is the actual trash they are trying to shove down your throat:

Hardware from 2015: The base model comes with 4GB of RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage. In 2026! eMMC 5.1 is so painfully slow that the phone will literally choke, stutter, and reload your apps straight out of the box.

The crippled port in action: That stripped-down ColorOS port, combined with sluggish storage, means the cheap Dimensity 6300 chip will be stuck forever waiting for data (iowait). Don't let the name "Dimensity 6300" fool you either: It’s literally just a recycled, slightly overclocked Dimensity 6080, which itself was just a rebranded Dimensity 810 from back in the day. It’s still running on ancient Cortex-A76 CPU cores designed back in 2018, slapped with a shiny new name to trick people into thinking it’s modern hardware. The phone will heat up and lag from simple tasks like downloading a file or opening a messenger🤣🤣🤣

Useless cameras: A 5MP selfie camera. Seriously, 5 megapixels is straight out of 2012. On the back, they glued a useless 2MP plastic lens next to the main sensor just to make the camera bump look "pro."

Marketing bullshit: The box will scream 144Hz! and 7000 mAh!. But a weak GPU can't push 144 FPS anywhere outside the settings menu. And they only crammed a massive 7000 mAh battery in there because that cheap, power-hungry IPS display drains it instantly.

Let's look at the actual math (BOM Cost):

If you add up the wholesale prices of this old junk (entry-level chip, cheap matrix, eMMC storage, 5MP front shooter), the actual component cost is a microscopic $40–$45 max🤣🤣🤣

And they're going to sell this masterpiece for ₹16,999–₹17,999 ($200+). That's a 300%+ markup! They're just clearing out their warehouses and pocketing over $100 in pure profit on every single unit off the backs of unsuspecting buyers.

Guys, do not fall for this scam. Upvote this post, push it to the top so more people see it. If it gets enough views, Realme management is going to sit there with very sad faces—exactly the same sad face you’d have if you wasted your hard-earned money on this plastic toy. Let's stop them from using India as a dumping ground for old components.

Realme scammed the whole of India with the GT 7

I bought the Realme GT 7.

This phone was supposed to ship with kernel 6.6 — the proper kernel for Android 15. Instead they gave us 6.1.112 from late 2024.

Because of that, from day one there was serious overheating and constant Wi-Fi dropouts.

Later they slightly patched it to 6.1.134. It barely fixed anything.

They also kept Android 16 on the same old 6.1 kernel. After the Next Generation update on June 2 the phone turned into a brick for a lot of people: Wi-Fi almost couldn’t hold a stable connection, and the battery was hitting 45°C+ even in light games. Realme knew about it and just didn’t care.

People started mass rolling back. The company had to maintain two separate update branches because their own software was that bad.

Only now, in July 2026, they finally decided to push 6.1.157, which more or less fixed the Wi-Fi issue.

The latest upstream patch right now is 6.1.178. They still haven’t reached it. They simply don’t care.

The phone launched at ₹40,000–52,000. It’s still around ₹40,000 now.

The average salary in India is roughly ₹20,000–30,000 per month. A lot of people spent one and a half to two months’ salary on this phone and got a device with a dead kernel.

They did the same thing with the GT 6.

Realme now has two choices:

Either properly update the kernel at least to 6.12,

Or keep 6.1 on Android 17 / ColorOS 17 — and that will be an official admission that Realme is just a scam company.

Please upvote this post so more people see it.

Don’t buy new Realme devices until they start properly supporting the ones they already sold.

They take our money for fancy ads and presentations, then forget about us. To them we are just a herd they can milk.

It’s really sad that for this company money is more important than treating their customers like human beings.

Peace to everyone.

Realme is the golden standard of software scams, and it’s time we finally open our eyes.

Let's just pause for a second and break down this circus of what our phones are turning into. Have you guys actually noticed how our devices start acting like absolute garbage after all these "cool" updates? 🤔 The battery temperature itself consistently spikes up to 45°C, Wi-Fi drops out of nowhere, and protective thermal throttling kicks in way too late — long after the hardware and processor are already melting...

Do you know why this is happening? 📉

Because Realme openly confuses silicon with software and completely ignores the most important thing. They not only refuse to update the kernels, they don't even patch them at all. Just think about this insane level of corporate greed and utter disrespect toward their audience! They simply don't give a damn about any of us, leaving critical code issues completely unaddressed. Total and absolute absurdity.

Let's clear up the difference right now so people understand. The processor is just a piece of silicon, the physical "muscles" of your phone. But the kernel is its actual brain and nervous system, the core program that manages this hardware, distributes power, and sets temperature limits. 🧠⚡️

But what do they do? Instead of proper upstream rebases of the "brain," they’ve reached an absolute level of absurdity: they are forced to run two parallel update branches for Android 15 and Android 16 at the same time! 🤯 Can you imagine the scale of this catastrophe? Users are massively refusing to upgrade to the new versions because the devices turn into overheated lumps of broken junk. People are simply forced to roll back and stay on older branches just so their device doesn't die completely in their hands...

⚠️ And now, a technical verdict for everyone sitting on kernel branches 6.1 or 6.6:

Congratulations. If you think your device is secured for the years ahead in 2026 and into future Android 17–18 updates — forget about it. Because Realme fundamentally refuses to do a full upstream rebase and leaves kernels to rot for years, you are walking straight into a dead end. The official lifecycle of these Linux LTS branches is inexorably marching toward its end, and the vendor simply does not give a damn.

The bottom line is simple: consider your smartphone a glorified, beautifully wrapped brick. They will draw you brand-new icons, smooth status bar drop-downs, and interface animations, but under the hood, it will run on an abandoned, unpatched chunk of code that is slowly killing your hardware.

And you know what hurts the most? 😒 They are simply too cheap to pay normal engineers who could get the kernel sorted out in a couple of days. Instead, millions of dollars are dumped into aggressive marketing, flashy fluff, and empty promises.

Stop swallowing this software trash and funding lazy corporate con artists. Demand a proper foundation, not shiny wrappers over a rotting kernel! 🛑✊

Realme GT 8 Pro Kernel Scam

I decided to dig into the kernel source situation for the Realme GT 8 Pro to see if they changed at all since the GT 7 circus. Spoiler: they didn't. They just slapped a higher price tag on the same laziness. Here are the receipts.

  1. Day-One Time Travel (October 2025)

When you unboxed your shiny GT 8 Pro in late 2025, what kernel were you actually running?

6.12.23-android16-5

Do you know when Greg Kroah-Hartman released 6.12.23 upstream? April 2025😲

That means the phone you bought for top dollar was already six months outdated the exact second it left the factory. Realme took a frozen June 2025 GKI snapshot (android16-6.12-2025-06) and shipped it months later as a "modern" flagship. That’s not an accident; that’s a conscious corporate choice to save money on engineers.

  1. The Great 75-Patch Ghost Town (Today):

Fast forward to late July 2026. Upstream linux-stable 6.12 LTS is currently sitting at 6.12.98.

Let's do some elementary school math for Realme’s software team:

75 stable kernel releases skipped.

Multiple monthly Google GKI respins ignored.

Hundreds of potential security fixes that never reached the device (across 11 Android Security Bulletins).

They call these micro-updates "improves system security and stability" in a 2.7 GB OTA package. In reality? It’s a pathetic, lazy cherry-pick of a few hand-picked CVEs just to pass Google Play Protect certification and fool MADA audits. They maintain a permanent, immovable ~9-month gap behind upstream, starting from day one.

  1. How Realme "Engineers" Their Kernels

Want to know what Realme's kernel team actually does all day? Let’s list it:

Cherry-pick a random security patch when a CVE hits public headlines.

Sync a few Qualcomm vendor blobs when CAF forces them to.

Hide every single technical detail behind generic changelog text because if they wrote down what they actually changed, everyone would laugh.

Never do a full rebase to a fresh GKI branch.

Never publish clean, readable per-commit changelogs.

Never provide a complete source tree on day one (their GPLv2 compliance tarballs on opensource realme com arrive late, stripped of proper subsystem sources, and wrapped in prebuilt binary .ko walls).

It’s compliance theater at its finest. Just enough code to technically avoid a lawsuit, but completely useless for an independent security audit or a custom ROM community. Want to port /e/OS, GrapheneOS, or LineageOS to your GT 8 Pro? Too bad, you're locked in a hardware cage managed by people who treat kernel maintenance like an afterthought.

  1. The 2028 Dead End

Realme promises 4 major Android updates and 5 years of security patches.

Guess what? The 6.12 LTS branch officially reaches End-of-Life (EOL) in December 2028.

Do the math. There is going to be a multi-year period where your phone is supposedly under "official software support," while sitting on a completely dead, abandoned kernel branch that hasn't seen an upstream fix from Greg KH in years. We watched them pull this exact same scam with the GT 7 on its 6.1 branch. Different base, higher price, identical corporate DNA.

Realme Scam: Flashy Animations Instead of Kernel Patches

Let’s drop the marketing fluff and look at the actual source code.

The Realme GT7 — a supposed 2025 sub-flagship — launched on Linux kernel 6.1.112 (a release from September 2024). While serious competitors using the same Dimensity platform actually paid for proper BSP adaptation and shipped on native 6.6, Realme decided to cut corners and ship a "new" phone on an Android 14-era kernel tree.

Let's do the math that Realme's PR team hopes you ignore:

Launch baseline: 6.1.112

Half-assed update: 6.1.134

Emergency damage control post-backlash: 6.1.157

Upstream 6.1 LTS right now (late July 2026): 6.1.178

That is 66 skipped LTS releases. Sixty-six.

For anyone who actually writes low-level code, builds custom kernels, or maintains device trees, you know exactly what’s inside those skipped releases: critical TCP/Wi-Fi stack regressions, DMA driver fixes, thermal management patches, and Energy Aware Scheduler (EAS) optimizations.

Instead of maintaining a clean baseline, GT7 users were forced to endure random Wi-Fi packet drops, weak signals, and unnecessary thermal throttling for almost a year. Then, after massive community outrage, Realme finally pushes .157 — and magically, the Wi-Fi stabilizes and thermals cool down. It wasn't magic. It was basic engineering debt that should have been patched before the first device left the factory.

Meanwhile, what was the software team busy doing? Drawing fancy UI animations, shoving useless AI camera features, and polishing the ColorOS shell.

If ColorOS 17 / Android 17 arrives on this exact same rotting 6.1 branch, it will be the ultimate proof that Realme treats the Linux kernel as an afterthought and views its users as clueless consumers.

We come into this world with nothing and leave with nothing. Reputation is the only currency that actually lasts. Stop selling yours out for short-term savings on engineering.

Fix the kernel foundation. Everything else is just lipstick on a pig.
