Was doing some work on an internal drive, made a backup file of said internal drive onto an external drive, and formatted the internal drive clean (total wipe -- zeroed out).

Rebooting the computer, Windows ran chkdsk on the external and wound up removing my backup file entirely. Ran Disk Drill, created an image of the drive, scanned, couldn't find anything other than some scattered files and a chkdsk.log of what it did to said file.

I explained what happened and what was I hoping to recover to Secure Data Recovery, they took the case and I and shipped the drive off. They almost immediately said there was nothing they could do (lol) and had to pay $50 bucks to cover all the shipping costs.

I kinda refuse to give up, but I am losing a bit of hope since even as a power user this is beyond me. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

Installed Bazzite two days ago and I am trying to troubleshoot my Audient iD14 mkII. Pair of very odd problems:

• Audio is mixing up right and left channels -- left comes in right, right comes in left.
• Said left channel is also coming in at like 50% volume.

Seems like it thinks its surround sound rather than headphones? There doesn't seem to be a setting to change it in Settings -> Sound. Not sure how to try and fix this.

Fidium doesn't service my condo -- I'm on their "notify me" waitlist. I'm trying to figure out why or at the very least find out how to find out why.

It's all new construction, and I've seen little flags in the ground about planted fiber lines in the area. My suspicion is that, as only Comcast is available to us, there was some sort of sweetheart deal between Comcast laying down the lines in exchange for exclusivity. I know this happens a lot for apartment complexes, but this is a condo that I own and is in my name.

I've emailed my HOA manager to see if there's anything in the charter or bylaws. She said not only does she not know why only Comcast is available, she is having the same issue with a whole different association in another part of NH.

So, I'm sort of at a loss trying to find out this information. I can't get a hold of anyone at Fidium ("We know it's disappointing we do not service your area etc."), and it's not like Comcast is gonna talk. So at this point I'm not sure what to do.

Appreciate any ideas or insights.
