Heyho!! I want to recreate the Spring Dress from FFXIV and I admittedly don't have that much experience straying away from ready-made patterns yet.

For the top part, I was thinking a peasant blouse pattern would work well. The thing is just...how to I go about attaching the blue detailing on top without killing the stretch? (As I reckon that may be important: It wraps all the way around the back as well). I don't want to use jersey as I feel like that wouldn't end up looking right. I looked for stretch poplin (I was intending to use either poplin or a nice rayon for the dress) but only found very limited colours for that and not one I'd like.

I also considered just having it gathered with the rest of the fabric and I may go with that if I can't find a better solution, my concern is just that it'll naturally end up wrinkly like that instead of nice and crisp.

So yea, if anyone more experienced has an idea I'd be very grateful!!

I know it's a wrap top kinda thing but haven't been able to find anything hitting the same.....I think it's so cute but I'm iffy on the polyester crêpe they use....
