What is this spider??

What is this spider??

I know he’s a little hard to see against the pavement but this is a light coloured spider, had a big almost triangular body, and visible hairs on its legs. I thought it was a crab at first! Spotted in northern BC Canada. What is it??

How to add a trim to curved collar?

Hi, I’m trying to figure out how to do this right!! I want to add this trim around the collar line of this dress, but given that the trim is straight and the collar is curved I want to know how best to approach creating this curve in the trim. Should I cut slits along the top? Pleat it maybe?

Need advice for stays construction

Hi! I have just started my journey in making historical garments, and I have made a pair of short stays that turned out fairly well for a beginner I think, but I do have one connundrum which is that the front portion at bottom tends to bend and flip up. Would this be fixed with stronger boning?

I’m very excited to talk about this project!! I am making an Animorphs dress, utilizing this artwork I did of the whole gang which I ordered on Spoonflower on fabric. The second pic is my art mockup of the dress design and the third is a practise dress I make using thrifted Nintendo bedsheets to practise the dress pattern. What do you guys think??? 😃

Hello again! I am continuing on my sewing learning journey and I have a question about sewing these big gathered skirts. Since the gathering results in soooo much fabric I had a heck of a time with this dress, and broke four sewing machine needles! Is there any tips on getting through these large bunches of fabric without jamming the machine or snapping the needle??

I plan on adding some lace to the bodice here and I sure did mess up a LOT on this dress but I like the pattern a lot haha
