I really like this panel and felt like drawing it. it. It's my first time trying to do the hair highlights she has. I'm proud of this, but it does still look off overall. I couldn't get her head shape right.

The current threat facing Okarun is that he becomes "fully Oni". This could mean he fully loses control of his senses and becomes a monster, it also might be irreversible. So I was thinking of ways that could be prevented and I thought it would have something to do with Momo and the power of love.
Now that on its own is pretty cheesy and cliche so I tried to think of a scientific reasoning for why it would work. The Oni sprout grows by Okarun continuing to use the Oni club by channelling his chi into the club, nurturing the sprout until it blooms and transforms him into a full oni.
Okarun often channel's large amounts of Momo's chi through the oni club so a part of her is mixed in with the oni power that is making him transform into an oni and that connection will be the part of him that stays human and allows her voice to reach him and bring him back to humanity. That way we get the trope of love conquering all while also getting a good reason for why it should work against a physical process like the oni club nurturing this oni sprout within him.
I love the anime and mid way through watching it I did a quick google search to see if season 2 was announced and I saw it was planned for january 2027 and closed the tab to avoid spoilers. I just finished season 1 and searched again to confirm and turns out that was an april fools prank and theres no season 2 announced let alone a date so soon.
Anyway considering theres no season 2 coming which manga chapter should I start from and is it far ahead of where the anime ended? I know the ln is the original source, but if I can't watch it ad an anime I want to read the manga.
An interesting parallel I saw in the recent chapter is that Aira got scared of losing Okarun and didn't believe in him, only focusing on what they can't do and trying to get him to give up. Even if it means Momo and Jiji being in danger (although she does believe that Jiji is enough to protect them).
Meanwhile Momo believes in him and knows they can help even a stranger like Yatagarasu and even if Okarun isn't strong enough on his own she will give him the strength he is missing to help him succeed.
