How do you teach your self about make-up/ skincare

I have never really been that interested in the way I look, but recently I feel like I want to put in more effort. The problem is I don't have the patience to spend 20 mins getting ready in the morning, plus if I buy one thing I have to use 20 other things to complement it.

So my question is: how do you take care of your skin in the simplest way possible? My current skincare involves moisturizer, an acne face mask, face wash, and sunscreen. I am breaking out less often these days, which is good, but I still have acne scars. My current makeup routine is clear lip gloss, mascara, and maybe eyeliner.

I am also south asian and 21, in case that is relevant information.

How to establish firm bounderies

Yesterday at a campus event, there was a scavenger hunt, and this guy who is new to this school was talking about the school and asking me questions since I have been here longer. I was fine with it, but on the shuttle ride back to the other school campus, he asked if he could sit next to me, even though there were multiple other seats where he could have sat alone comfortably. On the ride back, he asked questions about living off campus and, in doing so, asked me exactly where I live, which made me uncomfortable, so I didn't answer. He has my number, and an hour or so after I got home, he asked if I had reached out or not, and when I didn't respond, he wrote goodnight to which I didn't respond as well. I feel like when I was younger, my family was very loving and protective of me, so I didn't face issues as such because everyone is scared of my mother and never dared to cross me. The question applies to both women and men, since I don't want anyone to be disrespectful of my boundaries, and I want to be nice but not be uncomfortable.

I feel bad for not responding and feel like I am being rude.

How do you have hope for the future when nothing around you seems okay?

I lost my father when I was 1.5 years old, and my older siblings and my mother supported me and continue to do so. Both my siblings moved out when I was a toddler, and my mother remarried someone with whom I didn't get along, so I never really liked living at home for the majority of my life. I am very ambitious and want to have a career in healthcare (not a doctor) because I feel like the only thing of value in this world is the fact that human life is worth saving. But I don't want to just work for all my life, I didn't feel like I was wanted back home, my sister is in one hell of a marriage, and I have grown up seeing all forms of relationship abuse. I don't have any friends, and I take too long to open up, and I am very introverted. All of this makes me feel like there is not a lot to look forward to in life other than work and finding meaning through work. But isn't that a little depressing, because it means when I come home from work, I will be in an empty apartment. I feel like I spent all my teenage years wishing I could leave home, now I left home and have no friends, and am building a life from scratch.

Hijab recommendations

I am used to the regular cotton hijabs but they don’t do well in the washer/dryer. I also don’t want to wear an under-cap as they give me a headache. I don’t like the chiffon hijabs as I feel like they slip off of my head. I like the cotton feels though and the texture doesn’t bother me but they are starting to look cheap.
I also live in a place with dry heat and I have to walk a lot so I would like something that is breathable.

Finding a sense of community

About a year and a half ago, I moved to another country for my education, and it was amazing at first. I felt a sense of freedom; I wasn't attached to my mother anymore, and I felt independent. But a few months ago, I started to feel lonely, tired of doing everything by myself, and craving a sense of community. For context, I am the youngest, with both my siblings over a decade older than me, both of whom moved away from home about a decade before I left, and I see them every year or every few years. I have only really had one or two friends at a time, and I am no longer in contact with them. I am extremely introverted, shy, and struggle to talk to other people, and the longer I live here, the less interested I am in talking or introducing myself to someone new. I am also the kind of person who doesn't like to smile a lot, like to be the listener instead of the talker, and it takes me a while to get used to someone to start feeling safe and expressing myself. I talk to my sister, but she is still not my friend. I also feel like I have never really had any community or anyone I could talk to about myself. My family loves me, but we are desi, and we don't talk about our feelings. I don't own a car, and Uber everywhere is expensive, so I feel like I go to class, come home, study, and watch my shows. But it's summer now, so I am home more and am getting tired of the monotony.

I wanted to know what advice anyone who has experienced something similar, or someone who is very introverted and come out of their shell and built a sense of community.
