What is the cheapest option for moving a couch (loveseat) out of a 3rd floor apartment that needs to be trashed? I’ve checked out a couple different moving options but it’s hard when most places will only do on site or very rough estimates.
My husband and I are moving in about 3 weeks. About 6 months ago we started to see some roaches but weren’t sure what they were. After some digging we realized that several recent reviews from former tenants reported pest control and mold problems that were never addressed either properly or at all. Since the apartment complex was bought out, maintenance has gone to hell. They haven’t been here to spray for bugs since, even though our lease says they will spray twice a year. We got some sticky bug traps but we started to see more. We got some advion and gentrol and have seen significantly less but upon opening our dishwasher for the first time in a month (it frequently stops mid cycle for no reason so we stopped using it). I found about 5 adults living in it. This is after a month of only a couple individual sightings. I had thought we had gotten rid of the breeding population but now I’m not so sure. Another reason I was hesitant to report the problem are the reviews from recent tenants showing moldy that was just painted over, water damage that was just painted over, and attempts to charge tenants for existing damage or other problems outside of their control. I feel so lost in this situation. I’m also concerned that they would attempt to use pesticides that would be harmful to our cats or blame us for the infestation just to make us pay for it. I don’t really know what to do, I’ve known we need to report the problem but it feels inevitable that we’ll have to pay for it and they won’t do anything. Of the 12 apartments in our building 6 have moved out in the last 6 months and they can’t get anyone to move in with the terrible reviews they’ve been getting.
My fiance and I are looking for a new apartment when our lease is up in August. What apartment complexes have you all had good or bad experiences with? Any companies I should avoid or look out for? Thanks all!
Several significant events have strained many of the relationships in my family. One of these involved my mother driving a wedge between my father and I that has only begun to heal in the last couple years. However, I have severe anxiety over the prospect of dancing with him at my wedding. I can count on one hand the amount of times we’ve hugged in the last decade and I just can’t imagine dancing with him. However, my mom lost her dad when she was very young so she’s been verbal about how important a father-daughter dance is to her. She is currently little to no contact with my brother for how he handled this issue with the mother-son dance from his wedding 5 years ago.
My question: is there any kind of alternative to a father-daughter dance I could do instead that wouldn’t be so intimate or serious?
