Are most people's cubital tunnel caused by work?
Just curious here. It seems like a lot of cubital tunnel instances are caused by work here, or at least I see people mention that they are on the computer for 8 hours a day at work, they do repetitive movements at work, etc. Are people going through their normal insurance because they didnt realize it was from work? I think mine is caused by a mix of things but is pretty aggravated at work (manual labor). I did recently find out that my mom had cubital tunnel from work and had to stop working because she didnt want to do the surgery. (Thats not really an option for me, to stop working.)
Im mostly curious because I've had a hard time getting my doctor to take me seriously. He literally told me yesterday that my new symptoms in my right arm arent from overuse because ive been using my right arm solely for 5 months while my left healed. He told me that the compression feeling and my arm going numb at work was "normal" and part of getting used to going back to work again (even though i had been working the entire time.)
I tried switching doctors but they are very limited for who is a specialist and will see me under work comp. There is a cubital tunnel specialist I wanted to see but they only accept my private insurance. So, is everyone just using their private insurance even if work is a big factor in your pain?
