Are most people's cubital tunnel caused by work?

Just curious here. It seems like a lot of cubital tunnel instances are caused by work here, or at least I see people mention that they are on the computer for 8 hours a day at work, they do repetitive movements at work, etc. Are people going through their normal insurance because they didnt realize it was from work? I think mine is caused by a mix of things but is pretty aggravated at work (manual labor). I did recently find out that my mom had cubital tunnel from work and had to stop working because she didnt want to do the surgery. (Thats not really an option for me, to stop working.)

Im mostly curious because I've had a hard time getting my doctor to take me seriously. He literally told me yesterday that my new symptoms in my right arm arent from overuse because ive been using my right arm solely for 5 months while my left healed. He told me that the compression feeling and my arm going numb at work was "normal" and part of getting used to going back to work again (even though i had been working the entire time.)

I tried switching doctors but they are very limited for who is a specialist and will see me under work comp. There is a cubital tunnel specialist I wanted to see but they only accept my private insurance. So, is everyone just using their private insurance even if work is a big factor in your pain?

Doctor dismissed secondary injury

I was injured back in January. My left arm. I worked for 5 or 6 months basically only using my right arm. The entire time I was telling this doctor (an ortho specialist) that I kept having numbness and tingling in my pinky and ring finger but he dismissed it because of how I was injured. He sent me back to normal duties, telling me that I would get back to feeling normal eventually. My right arm recently started getting this compression type feeling in my elbow and my ring and pinky finger going numb. I also lost feeling in my arm a couple times at work. I figured it was an overuse injury. I went back to my doctor and also contacted an attorney. He completely dismissed me and told me it was probably just my body getting used to going back to work even though I have been working this ENTIRE time. He told me that he would refer me to either a secondary opinion or an IME. He said another option, literally told me this, was to quit my job because maybe its telling me that it cant do the work anymore. Contradictory much?

I had been trying to find a different doctor before I went back to this one because I was worried he would be dismissive. But unfortunately workers comp doesnt really cover a lot of specialists and the ones they do wont be an attending physician which is what i need. I am so lost in this process. The icing on the cake was I told my attorney what the doctor said and they reccomended me a docror....it was the same one I had been seeing. I dont know if I didnt mention his name or what to begin with. I thought I had. Hopefully they will continue working with me and help me find someone else. Because we all know how IMEs go.

Book name?

Not a recommendation but looking for the name of a book. I listened to it and dont remember the name. But its roughly about different timelines over a hill/mountain and people couldnt travel outside of the town/surrounding area or they could potentially see their future self or lack their of and see that they died. Supposedly it was going to be made into a show.

Anyone know?

Cubital tunnel in both arms-manual labor job.

Hi everyone. I believe I have cubital tunnel syndrome in both elbows. It first started in my left elbow from an injury where I felt the nerve slide while moving/turning a heavy object. My doctor was adamant that this injury wouldn't have caused nerve issues and it was just a tendon issue. I did get a nerve study that came back clear. But I've had the tingling in my pinky and ring, the weakness, pain in the elbow (more on the back vs the inside). For 5 months I was doing light duty and mainly using my uninjured arm. I came back to normal duties and almost instantly the tingling and nerve issues are back in my left, and now starting in my right.

Im worried what the doctor will say especially since he still doesnt believe the nerve issues are from that specific injury. But i have the tingling, the numbness, the pain/pinching in the elbows, and my right arm gets this feeling like when youre getting your blood drawn but I feel it in the elbow. This intense "asleep" like feeling and nerve glides help get the blood flowing back.

I do a very manual job. Im always moving my arms, lots of repetitive movement, i use hand tools like drills that probably dont help. I thought about a reduced schedule but it seems like that doesnt typically help. But would surgery help and then i can come back to my normal job? There really isnt anywhere else in the company that doesnt have repetitive movements since its manufacturing, unless i can maybe run a machine.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Do my husband and I cound as "household" with his 18 yo brother?

In Oregon. My husband and I took in his little brother (18, autistic, waiting on assistance from the local developmental disability program.) He doesnt pay rent. We dont share food. My husband and I pay all the bills. I'm confused if we should add ourselves to the "household". We dont share food, we buy and cook separately. When filling out the paperwork it asks if hes receiving help with paying for shelter which is yes and I added our mortgage and utilities. Im going to have him add an extra piece of paper to explain the situation that he lives with a sibling that let's him live there for free while he waits for assistance. But I just dont know whether or not to add our names and incomes to the paperwork. I looked it up and it seemed "household" only includes parents, children, and people who share food. We arent any of those.

Accidentally seeded without VPN

Yesterday I accidentally seeded some movies without my VPN on. I didnt realize I didnt click out of the qbit. My husband recieved an email from our ISP yesterday for one movie. When i checked the site "I know what you've downloaded" or whatever it is, it looked like a few movies were seeded. The qbit was open for about 12 hours maybe more without a VPN. Soo how in trouble will I be? Im in the US

Possible fibro?

Is this possibly fibro? Does fibro not come up on blood tests, like inflammarion?

Ive had aches and pains for literally years and I always seem to be getting hurt easily. Whenever I get diagnostics like x-ray, mri, etc they always come out fine but the pain is still there. I've had low back issues for years after a workplace injury but all imaging came out fine, but the sciatica pain is still there. Im in a really bad flare currently as i started light duty at work after an injury and ive been sitting down for 10 hours a day for about 5 months. At first it felt great to not be on my feet, now my low back, knees, shoulders, and neck are all feeling it.

My newest workplace injury started feeling a lot better but then theres this one or two rainy days that completely throw me back. The pain is back, tingling is back etc. Ive had nerve studies and xrays and no nerve damage or broken bones. I'll also add my right hand was injured a few years back and never felt like it fully healed, but again, all imaging like mri xray and nerve studies came back fine.

Ive been getting a lot of tingling in my back, shoulder blades and neck. I do look down a lot at my job but havent gotten any tests for it yet but im really thinking, what if its just a weird flare and nothing physically is wrong? This tingling and pain did for the most part, start a few days before the really nice weather turned into really shitty.

I'll also add that a lot of my pain is a LOT worse around my period, and my periods are hell. So much so that I thought I had endometriosis (i havent gotten the incision surgery but every other imaging test i had looked fine.)

My mom did tell me a few years back she was misdiagnosed with fibromyalgia. I dont remember why she said it was a misdiagnosis but she has always been very tender and somewhat fragile.

When I finally went to the doctor to let her know I'm having all of this all over body pain that comes and goes, she did a blood test and got me an x-ray order. Im not hopeful about the xray. It will probably show nothing like normal. But the blood test did come back as deficiency in vitamin d. I'm not sure how bad it was but she put me on 50,000 units a week for 12 weeks. But surely, a little deficiency cant cause all of this tingling, brain fog, and pain right?

How did everyone finally come to the conclusion that its fibromyalgia and not something else?

Need advice. Secondary injury?

Tldr: secondary injury right when I'm supposed to have my restrictions lifted and go back to my normal duties. Went from doing one handed tasks as much as possible and a 10 pound weight limit, to using both arms and a 25 pound limit, and in 2 weeks im back to normal duties. The injury was to my elbow which I thought was nerve related but the doctor disagreed. It happened 5 months ago. My elbow was feeling much better and just recently started to hurt my neck and shoulder and maybe my right arm? Didn't think it was related at first so didnt think much of it. What do I do? Will they try and say the injuries dont add up?

In January I hurt my elbow at work. So its been 5 months now. I was bearing the weight of something heavy while turning it on a countertop about waist high. It started with aching pain on the back of the arm closest to the elbow, as well as tingling in my pinky and ring finger. When i hurt it, i felt a sliding sensation go across my elbow (possible nerve subluxation).Doctor (ortho specialist) kept saying it wasnt ulnar nerve related because of how I hurt it. When he told me to use my arm it made it hurt more and made the sensation come back. Got a nerve study that came back clear after like 3 months of him not listrning to me. He kept my restrictions as "utilize right handed work as much as you can". So I did and do use my left when it didnt hurt. I finally started feeling like I could use my arm all day at work about a month ago so I did. (I will add that ive been using a brace to keep my arm straight at night literally the entire time. Doctor said to "sleep how im comfortable.")

I started PT to regain strength and after using my left arm basically all day at work i started to feel pain in my left shoulder a little before I started PT for strengthening. I thought it was from one specific thing I was doing at work so I stopped doing it. (I did tell someone at work it was hurting my shoulder but didnt add it to my comp.) During my PT appointment I let her know and she gave me some exercises and they did help. The pain was intermittent so I guess I didnt think much of it. On the 24th of June I was cleared to go back using my left hand 100% and lifting up to 25 pounds. I did tell the ortho specialist that my shoulder had started hurting a little but the PT had given me some exercises and it was feeling mostly better. He didnt comment on that.

Now just a few days later my shoulder is HURTING along with my neck. I look down at my work, theres really no way to not look down because of how low the table is. And if i lower my chair then my shoulders are now at an awkward angle. Its like a sharp burning feeling and I do get tingles between my shoulder blades and base of my neck as well as headaches. I work 4 10s by the way. Sometimes theres mandatory overtime as well.

The tingling in my ring and pinky start back up as well when im feeling that sensation in my neck so im wondering if all along it was a nerve in my neck and not the ulnar nerve? But I did not have neck pain until very recently.

Im supposed to go back to no restrictions on July 10th. I want so badly to be able to go back to my normal job but also there is a lot of looking down at work stations (not so drastic though) and a lot of heavy lifting.

I JUST talked to my adjuster before the neck pain and tingling really started up (I did not mention my shoulder since it had been okay for the most part and my doctor didnt seem concerned.)

Im not sure what to do. Are these two injuries possible from overcompensation? What happens since im so close to going back to normal duties (restrictions lift on July 8th.) If I cant look down at my work what am I supposed to do? Theres nothing but looking down at my work because of how its set up.

Secondary injury? (Possible third?)

I think I have chronic pain and I work a manual labor job. What do I do?

I'm beginning to consider the reason why I get hurt so easily is because of chronic pain. What type? No idea. For as long as I can remember I've had incredibly painful legs. I dont let anyone touch them. I figure I could potentially have lipedema because they do swell as well as my arms. But the past few years it seems I've been getting injured on the job fairly easily. Just by doing my regular job. First it was back pain, sciatica, thats angry when I stand too much and when I sit too much. Then my wrist gave out and I have to wear a brace the majority of the time. Then it was my elbow. Just lifting something like normal. My orthopedic specialist insists I should've healed by now but it still hurts. Now the shoulder of the same arm with the elbow is hurting. I thought it was from sleeping weird but I figure I cant be sleeping funky for 3 weeks straight right? I've been working manufacturing for 6 years and other than customer service I dont have any other skills. Im going to school for an office specialist certification but what do I do until then? How do I manage this constant freaking pain?

Who has the right of way on a two lane highway intersection with stop signs? Someone turning left or someone going straight across the highway lanes? Car turning left got to their stop sign first.

Where to plant blueberries?

I want to plant some blueberries but im not sure where to put them. I basically have two options as my dogs rule the rest of my yard and im a bit worried they will destroy the plants. The first spot needs to be cleared out with the black berries which im hoping I can manage. Its about 6 feet or more wide and 12+ feet long. I had ducks and chickens there at one point so the soil is probably pretty fertile but id add whatever is needed for the blueberries to thrive. The second spot is in front of my house. Much smaller. About 10 feet long and 5 feet wide in front of my house. The sun rises to the left of my house and sets to the right. So the first spot would get sun late morning to mid day depending on how much the fence shades it. The second spot would get sun later in the day. My only option would be maybe in front of my garden fence (which is the pallets) but I would need to fence it off and give my dogs less space. It also may be shaded by the pallet fence unless I moved the fencing out (which ive thought about and also making a wire fencing so sunlight can get through.) Since theyre mostly permanent i want to pick a good spot. I read they dont always thrive longterm in pots because i did think about leaving them in pots. Any thoughts?

Jail broken fire tablet?

I got this amazon fire tablet from a seller and I believe its jail broken. This isnt what a fire tablet should look like. Ive tried factory resetting it but it doesnt work, it just comes up like this with some generic android web browser. It wont let me login to amazon and I cant download apps. The seller wasnt much help and customer service isnt either, especially since I'm not sure what "problem" this should be under. I put it under broken but the information and pictures they want me to send doesnt seem to be getting the idea of what's wrong with it. Any thoughts?

Jail broken fire tablet?

Im not sure what the hell is wrong with this tablet. It was advertised as a fire tablet but its almost like it was jail broken or something. Factory setting doesnt work. Theres a login option that doesn't work. Theres a web view thing that i can search the web but only direct websites. Trying to type in "app store" doesn't work so I am not able to download any apps. Ive tried contacting the seller a few days ago with no reply. Any ideas?

In Oregon. Just need to know id denying work outside of normal hours is seen as denying work for overtime. I don't care about the repercussions with my own job as I don't have any negative attendance issues just strictly if denying overtime would hurt my benefits I dont get paid since I make too much but they pay for the doctor.

In Oregon. There is scheduled overtime tomorrow but I was telling my boss that my arm was really sore (ongoing injury that occurred at work) I told him I wouldn't be in for mandatory overtime because of how sore it was and he said id still need to text in and it would go against my attendance. He did say I had no points against me ive not called in sick.

So does Oregons protected sick time cover calling in on an overtime day?

Might not be the right forum for this. But I was injured a few months ago and i have been moved to a different department for light duty. My work restrictions are to basically not use my left hand. As ive started feeling better ive used my left a bit more but my doctor has kept the restrictions so im not moved back to a department that has 0 one handed work. The one im in now I can use both if im feeling good or go back to one handed depending on what im building.

There is "mandatory" overtime tomorrow. I do have fmla that has nothing to do with the injury that I took one day this week so ive worked 30 hours. However my arm has been aching so bad from using it because there has been more 2 handed work than 1 handed. I let the supervisor know I wouldnt be in and he told me it would go against my attendance. In my department, we dont have mandatory overtime. The president of the company a few years back even said theres no such thing as "mandatory" overtime because people were complaining and quitting. I do remember a while ago before the no mandatory overtime thing, I had been put on light duty and was exempt from overtime.

So maybe not the right forum but just curious if anyone knows if going through a work injury you can be expected to work overtime? It doesnt seem right. Leaving today theres also no one handed work ready for tomorrow. So if I hurt id have to either do the two handed work or just sit there and wait to see if they ever got one handed work.
