I guess I'm into printmaking now? newbie pls help
I bought these printing blocks from the 50's thinking they were stamps. They are metal, and some are flat images while other have raised lettering. I asked the seller if they stamped like regular rubber stamps and he was looking at me like I was dumb, and said yes they do. I Take them home and clearly that isn't the case. Im using just a regular $2 ink pad from the craft store. I have to press really hard for a visible print and even then it seems it's not picking up the ink. I would really like to figure out how to use these. Any pointers ? TIA
