My hatred of work outweighs my desire to have children
Anyone else feel this way? If the only way to afford children (if you even can) is to work these sh*tty jobs, I'd rather not have them.

Used to live in Columbia, and purchased an owner-occupied duplex. Have since moved to the west coast, and am looking to rent it out.
Can anyone recommend a good PM to use? The one we've been using currently has been wildly overcharging us on maintenance costs and is very unresponsive.
Thanks!
35M. I was laid off from a high-flying startup 10 weeks in. Obviously I didn't expect it to be a career, but I was surprised at how quickly (and brutally) the decision was made. My boss called me in to huddle, told me things weren't working out, asked for my laptop, and told me that HR was on the phone to discuss severance.
I've spent most of my career in professional services, earning a high salary but also working long hours. This is the first time that I have no employment. Fortunately, I'm financially stable, but a little lost as to what to do. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated (especially from folks who have gone through similar things).
My goal is to retire with the net worth of $5 million. I will have $4.5 million liquid, and $500,000 in rental property equity generating a little over 10% cash flow per year. That leaves me with a budget of roughly $20,000 per month.
I am a single male in his mid 30s. What are some ideal places to retire? Assume that I rent, and take Uber everywhere. I put a premium on good weather as well, and I like to stay active.
Thanks!!
Joined a promising startup ($20bn valuation), was generally having a good experience with my team. Yesterday, boss calls me in and tells me it’s my last day. No PIP, no performance review. Just asked me to turn in my laptop, and tells me that HR is on the phone to discuss severance.
I had four job offers, and chose this after consulting with multiple friends. Fortunately, I am in a decent financial position, so it doesn’t impact my day-to-day. But I wonder how things would be different if I had a family, or if I had moved for this job. Employers really do not care about us. It’s an absolute joke.
I'm not sure what's going on, but I just got laid off from a corporate job after 10(!) weeks.
I'm in a really bad mental health space right now. I was unemployed for 6 months previously after getting laid off from my last job. I've had 6 jobs in 11 years, and I've been laid off three times. Either I'm the worst employee in history, or I just keep choosing the wrong employers.
This time, I'm ready to call it quits, and would love to get this sub's views on whether or not I can retire.
Net Worth: $3,657,362
Rental property equity is iffy. Over the last two years it's averaged $7k/mo, but this year has been particularly bad. Let's say it's about $3k/mo going forward.
Spend: Not sure if I'm going to move, but let's just say $100k/yr (outside of expenses associated with the rental properties).
35M, no kids and no spouse. Don't plan on ever getting married.
