I just watched episode 6 and I love the way this show sometimes chooses not to take itself seriously 😂

I just watched episode 6 and I love the way this show sometimes chooses not to take itself seriously 😂

It feels like each episode gets a little sillier than the previous one but I’m not complaining, I think it’s a unique and funny show. I’m glad that they seem to be managing to still tell a cohesive story through all the goofy nonsense.
Love it and I can’t wait for episode 7.

I just watched Ponyo for the first time and thought this scene was really sweet

Lisa calling her husband a jerk over and over again over morse code for not being able to make it home that night and him responding saying he loves her lots and lots is just so wholesome and funny to me.
It just shows she just loves him and misses him that much.
Her determination not to be upset afterwards for Sosuke’s sake is also really sweet.
Do you guys like this scene too or is it just me that finds it touching?

Which obscure or less important side characters happen to be your favorite?

Mine is probably Lan Fan from Fullmetal Alchemist. I also like Tsukiko Shimojima from Ramparts of Ice. For some reason it’s the side characters that only sometimes appear, and briefly, that end up being my favorite characters in the show.

Doesn’t have to be your favorite character overall, but favorite of side characters generally is my aim in this question.

Ok my beta brethren, I'm confused, do I need powered rails throughout the track or not? I placed powered rails every 8 blocks but it appears to work even without them, as long as I've got it going already. What's your advice? (beta 1.7.3)

My rail station by spawn that leads to my house (Beta 1.7.3)

Hi guys, I've been working on this one for a bit and as you can see it's taken a lot of cobblestone mining. This is a railway that leads from spawn straight to my house, which is just out of sight in the last image. I just love these tall, long arched railways like this that lead out to far distances; they're so monolithic (O - O) . I hope you all like it. I hope to build more tracks like this that lead far, far out, but that will take a long time to build and I have no current planned projects outside of my main base. Hope to expand someday though.

Does anyone who knows Japanese know what Kiki and Jiji actually say in this scene?

I know almost no Japanese but I am learning and I know enough to say that (in the Japanese audio) she says “Oba-chan” and “mainichi” meaning “grandma” and “every day”. Is she saying something about how she’ll have to work until she’s old because she isn’t getting many customers? I was just simply curious on the translation choices and what they chose to change.

What do you do when you don’t feel interested in Minecraft anymore?

I want to keep playing Minecraft beta 1.7.3 but I feel honestly deeply bored with the game in general. I don’t really have any building ideas that excite me but I want to have fun building up a long term world.
What do you do when you want to keep playing and having fun but it’s just not that much fun anymore?

I’ve felt this way for a while. If I’m not playing with friends, and I have no friends who will play beta specifically, then the game is boring, no matter the version. I feel this way with video games in general these days where the game is centered on what you do (like rpgs or sandbox games besides Minecraft). So if anyone has any general advice and feels like weighing in, let me know! :’)

It’s not like a necessity for me to enjoy games, as I have a lot of other hobbies and interests, but it disappoints me that I don’t have as much fun with this as I used to. I’ve played Minecraft for 15 years now and it’s only in the past couple years that I’ve felt a growing boredom with the game. I don’t know if I’m just growing out of it or what. Maybe some of you can relate?

My drawing of Kiki

I’ve been getting back into drawing lately. My biggest regret is quitting in middle school. I’m not great at it but I’m having a great time. Here’s a sketch of Kiki from my favorite Ghibli film Kiki’s Delivery Service.

What do Ghibli fans think of From Up On Poppy Hill?

This one is personally one of my favorites, including the soundtrack (which I wish they produced vinyl records of). But I was wondering what the general consensus of the fandom is. I feel like it’s a bit underrated but what does everyone think? I’m not trying to affirm my own opinions, I’m just purely curious what others think and why.
